Ex wife Kidnapped the kids | She's a fugitiveI was kidnapped by my father at the age of 4 and it is actually my first core memory as a child. I'm SO sorry for what you're going through. Prosecute her to the fullest extent able as she decided to do something that will stick with your children forever. Mental health be dawned, fuck that women and her selfish decision to do that. I don't even know you OP but given I went through what your kids are I am here to make sure she sees justice for her despicable actions After your kids are safe with… | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/01/25 02:50 AM
How do you deal with missing your kids?Split custody has been rough. What helped me was finding hobbies I had been without for a long time (guitar or whatever you were into). Also volunteering at a food pantry is a great way to build your self confidence while helping your community and most importantly, setting a Damm good example for your kids. The best advice I can give though is do not problem drink like I had. Any night I didn't have custody of my kids I felt like I had to be drink to numb the feeling of missing them. When you c… | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/01/25 02:04 AM
I’m starting to think that being single is the way to goSame, I was divorced last April and tried dating a couple months later. I hate every part of it and don't even give af about physical intimacy anymore. Being single and alone has offered such a peace of mind. Even with no friends I find peace in being alone | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/01/25 09:39 AM
As the holiday season approaches ...This is my first holiday alone. I don't really have a family for support but my kids on holidays always kept me going. Waking up on Thanksgiving and Christmas morning and not having my kids or anyone there is probably going to be what breaks me. It's just so damn lonely. Dating apps feel useless and being the superhero dad you need to be is so damn hard when you're alone. I feel like anytime I talk to someone about this I'm just pushed aside and expected to deal with it but I'm breaking and don'… | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/11/24 08:20 AM
My ex’s sisters husband served 8-9 years in jail for attempted murder in Illinois.I get your point, but I'm not letting some dude who tried to kill someone at some point around my kids. There are definitely some circumstances where I'd give leeway (self defense or protecting a loved one) but that's often not the case. If he had succeeded in his crim he would have robbed someone of potential decades of life while he gets to live his out (even in a cell). I get where you're coming from but I don't see any issue with OP not wanting someone with that past around my kids. If I all… | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/11/24 11:25 PM
Life Rant (venting)It may sound dumb, but that's not something I actually considered. I have several out of office work gatherings that I would usually have zero intention on going to that I will go to. I clearly need a mindset change and just know I really appreciate your input. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/11/24 01:10 AM
Life Rant (venting)I have recently gotten back into reading. Even if it's rereading the dark tower series. The book club advice is excellent and I really appreciate your advice and input. Also if you have any book reccomendations, I'd love to hear them. I'm really not picky with genre as long as you're not reccomending romance books | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/11/24 01:04 AM
Life Rant (venting)Haha not close to lecter weird. I don't see myself ever being the kind of person able to hurt someone. That is not me. Im going to look into the second hand 40k stuff to start out with as that is great advice on a starting point. Thanks again for the advice and best of luck | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/11/24 12:56 AM
Life Rant (venting)It's crazy that even though my ex and I can still be completely fine talking about everything I still feel like living with her still is almost holding me back from making legitimate emotional growth that I am clearly needing. Warhammer is a hobby I would love to get into honestly but it is definitely pricey to say the least. I am big into playing guitar and bass and have for almost 17 years. I have been in bands growing up off and on but still come across the issue with connecting with others. … | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/11/24 12:46 AM
Life Rant (venting)That is incredibly helpful honestly, thank you for the advice and insight | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/11/24 11:44 AM

Wife left me after 6 years of marriageI'm so sorry for what you're going through. I was married in 2017 and separated April of this year. Allow yourself to grieve and know that you did the best you could for that relationship. If you need someone to reach out to feel free to message me. This process is such shit and this community does a lot to be there for one another | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/08/24 09:59 PM

I've been divorced for 3+ years, and still feel as lost as I did since day one. When and how did things start getting better for you all? This advice was really helpful. I just finalized my divorce this month but still live with my ex and her family. Regardless of hardships we alone are responsible for our mental well being | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/08/24 05:52 AM
