| 1 | Frida Ghitis blurts it out...I must admit, I wasn't aware of some of the issues that men consider violation of their rights. In a lot of the men's rights blogs I've visited (just today since I wasn't even aware there was such a thing), a lot of the tone is "feminists (women) are bitchy emasculating whiners who need to shut up. We like the status quo just the way it is". I think we're still a long way from equity for women. I think she was saying 'men' (in general, not all) and then listed the ones she thought were idiots, but I see your point. I'm not sure a man could understand the discrimination, sexism, fear that many (not all) women experience on a daily basis. As I said recently to another commenter who compared black civil rights to feminism: Blacks are a legitimate minority (outside Africa). Women are 50% of the population pretty much everywhere. Where you work, what percentage of management is female? Pretty much everywhere...exactly, when they are not being aborted, or selected out in many cultures. No, not all men are misogynist (or dumb), but if we don't see that equality does not exist for women in most parts of the world/workforce etc., then that is surely blindness.
