Unfortunately on something like this it’s not really “seeing your side”. It’s him needing to see reality and manning up. That’s why I’m hitting so hard at that he shouldn’t even be considering going on a trip much less hurt that you don’t want to pay for it. It’s more of an introspective thing that he needs to see in himself and improve than seeing through your perspective. If that makes any sense.

So he’s hurt because he expected more for his birthday. Immature He’s upset because you’re saving your money while he is broke. Childish He wants you to spend more on him. Downright ridiculous. No man should be hurt by that nor upset. Why would you date someone like that? They should be upset at themselves for being in debt and unable to pay for things THEY want and never even think of touching your savings for something as frivolous as that. NOT be upset and hurt by YOU not wanting to squander away your money on unnecessary trips or outings. He also has poor man’s mentality. Grass fed beef ribeye with chicken fajitas. Learned early on that thigh meat is the only fajita worthy cut of a chicken. Learned last week that my air fryer that I’ve had for a year now and use every day has a preheat option lol
