Do you have any modern examples of this?

I definitely perused some sketchy subreddits in my time, but I don't remember that one.

I feel you. They're just different. I feel like a lot of women end up disappointed because they don't realize this.

I live in the US, but I don't own a gun. I'd recommend bear mace instead. When it comes down to it, you might hesitate before using a gun. You'll want to be 1000% sure that your life is in danger, which could mean failing to shoot when you need to. With bear mace, you can err on the side of protecting yourself.

This is literally all men. 100% of them. Yes even the one you consider "HVM". If you don't like this paradigm, then don't date men. You'll only end up disappointed.

Kindof assuming it's one of these: https://studentloanhero.com/featured/predatory-lending-warning-signs/

Threatening suicide is definitely manipulative, but if someone is desperately trying to get out of a contract a week after signing it, are you sure your company isn't the bad guys?

Yea but it's not like the fathers are much to write home about either. In Beauty & The Beast and Aladdin, they're bumbling fools who need to be saved by the daughter.

Ok but wasn't that like, the point of Little Mermaid? The person telling Ariel to give up her voice is obviously the villain. The movie isn't endorsing the villain's point of view.

I mean if the police had been mean to him, then they wouldn't have gotten the confession. Without the confession, he may still not have been acquitted, but it's possible his lawyer could have negotiated a plea bargain of 15-20 instead of life.

The police weren't being nice to him. They were doing interrogation tactics in order to get him to confess, which worked.

Well most of those videos were made to promote the MLM scheme she was sucked into, which helped demolish their finances. Kinda wished the documentary had gone more into detail on that.

True, but by the time Trump got the nomination, even if RBG had retired, the Senate wouldn't have confirmed an Obama replacement, as they refused to do when Scalia died. Maybe her plan was to retire during Obama's last year, but then Scalia's unexpected death and the Senate's historic refusal to confirm Obama's pick, threw a wrench in her plan?? Another theory is that the Democratic leadership told her not to retire, because Obama naming a 3rd Supreme Court justice would only galvanize Republica…

Well there are non-hormonal IUDs. I know some people experience side effects with those, but at least it's another option.

Agreed, but if it was so easy to detect "those types of men", this subreddit wouldn't be necessary.

Biden is just one person. With him as President, you no longer have Republicans controlling the EPA, the FDA, Department of Education, Consumer Finance Protection Agency, etc, etc, etc.

Think of it as a vote for the Supreme Court (Trump's Kavanaugh vs Obama's Kagan & Sotomayor). Think of it as Kamala Harris casting the tiebreaking vote in the Senate rather than Mike Pence. Think of it as a vote to expand Medicaid rather than a vote to make it so you can be denied health insurance due to a pre-existing condition.

I thought it was so we control our own bodies rather than giving that control to men. Maybe you trust men to use condoms responsibly, but not me.

Speaking of scams, I feel sorry for the woman whose man is dumping his money into crypto. It's all just a bunch of pump & dump scams and ponzi schemes now. You can "get lucky", but you can also "get lucky" at a casino or penny stocks, and I don't advise spending money there either.

I've read mixed accounts. It's possible that his small tumor had already metastasized, but there's no way to know. The bigger it gets, the more likely it is to spread.

I certainly wouldn't blame Boseman nor his family. I just worry that he may have had people telling him things like "Don't do chemo! It's poison!!" (which it is, but that's why it works), and similar terrible advice, which I see all of the time. That 75% survival rate includes mostly much older people. If you narrow the sample size to people in their late 30's and 40's, the rate is even higher.

Right. Steve Jobs also did chemo, and surgery, and even got a liver transplant. However this was after he spent almost a whole year trying to treat his pancreatic cancer diagnosis with "alternative medicine" and veganism. In that time, his small tumor grew into a large one and metastasized.

I really worry that he was caught up in some pseudoscience and didn't take the diagnosis as seriously as he should have, like Steve Jobs. He was diagnosed as stage 3 four years ago. Stage 3 colorectal has a 5 year survivability of 75%, and that number mostly comes from cases in much older people. These anti-science folk may seem harmless, but they have real consequences. RIP

Ok while it's true that almost 100% of these criminals are men, there's something we should all take into account, based on statistics. Now hear me out. Let's say 1 man in 100 is a rapist creep (the number's probably higher than this, but let's pretend). Now if you have a job where you encounter a lot of people (food service, for example), you're likely to interact with 1000 men in a single week. Meaning, you're likely to have an interaction with at least 10 rapist creeps per week. In a year, yo…

This is both right and wrong. A lot of boys simply are not exposed to this at all. While your average 14 year old girl, regardless of social or economic class, is continually exposed to the depravity of men in their 20's, 30's, 40's+, your average 14 year old boy is completely oblivious to this. Those same depraved older men have no reason to interact with 14 year old boys at all. This is why you end up with so many guys in their 20s playing "devil's advocate" and doubting the stories of their f…
