Exactly the point I’m trying to make. Thankfully most people I’ve met IRL are nothing like how all these other people online seem to be. The internet brings out the worst in us.

THANK YOU was trying to find it and my search bar probably looked awful out of context as a result 😭

I can’t remember it but there’s a subreddit that takes all those misandrist posts and replaces the word “men” with “Jews” so people can see how bad it really looks

The problem is the right is offering nothing either, they’re just better at making it look like they’re offering something

Whoever is selected to answer the questions… wouldn’t say they hate men You’d be surprised. I’ve found that the (few) people I’ve met that are actually as bad as the ones this sub describes would definitely (and have definitely, many times) openly admit to that.

I agree with this post though, I’ve noticed the rules say feminism is fine but it’s only the non egalitarian aspects of it that we should be criticizing which is true. Personally, most people who claim to be feminists that I’ve met are not what people on this sub paint them to be, though I’ve met my fair share who are too. I find the latter are damaging to feminism, the movement was never meant to be man-hating or make anyone superior to anyone else, but rather abolish the systems that provide a…

I’m not American, but I personally find the right wing is a much worse choice and that that sort of rhetoric on the left wing isn’t really perpetuated by the majority of people, so voting left seems like a fine choice to me.

To an extent, like sure some of that attention might be nice in specific contexts but like not if it starts getting weird. Flirting with me on a night out? Sure that’s awesome. Flashing me your bra and then proceeding to twerk on me while I’m just trying to walk home? Yeah mayyyyybe not (true story)

If anything makes you uncomfortable you have a right to those emotions, but being an abusive pos is never going to solve anything. Also if it’s someone’s gender that’s making you uncomfortable, maybe it’s time to check your biases.

Perhaps it doesn’t mean gay men are absolved by virtue of being gay, assuming those men actually were gay, but I think the commenter’s point is that generalization and assuming guilt until proven innocent is kind of stupid. It’s one thing to be cautious of strangers but it’s another to specifically blame other people’s crimes on someone because you want to find some connection in traits they have no control over.

I read that in a familiar voice, my argument each time was that all these gender roles and systemic injustice were created long before we were born, so how could we have controlled any of this? And if it was so easy to fix don’t you think it would have been fixed by now? Usually that’s enough to change the subject

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
