One i've tried at a bar is going "who wants to tip the bartender this time and handing money for some drinks," Usually they get their money out and one of them will get a drink, giving you a little one to one time. However can backfire when you've not callibrated it right and they just expect you to go get the drinks for all of them.

Even with metric system man you pay waaaay less. Keg of beer here which is about 90 beers you can pay up to $350. You can get them for cheaper some places but yeah, it's ridiculous. Not really mysteries... I tend to only use emoticons when responding to a girls actions, sorta like a reward system I guess (fucked as that sounds), meaning I use them quite sparingly and for majorish things.
