I do not believe being a leader has anything to do with being controlling. A high value guy wouldn’t feel the need to constantly control his first mate, he would know he could rely on her and trust her judgement. To me controlling behavior is a sign a man isn’t as mature or actually in control of himself as he’d like others to believe

You know what’s sad is how common it is, and how people are sort of primed into thinking it’s okay because so many other people present it as being okay. I had never even considered if it was a bad or good thing (it’s not something I watch but it seemed “normal” for guys to watch it for lack of a better word) until I dated a man who somehow was not interested in pornography. It’s a night and day difference and I do think it has a negative effect on men. I hope your therapy journey goes well and …

First step: forgive yourself for the past and work on that unnecessary guilt you’re holding on to about doing laundry too often. You can afford to do it as often as it needs now Make a schedule since you’re good at them! You can just say “I’m doing my laundry on Tuesday and Saturday” from now on and stuck to that (or whichever days fit your work schedule). Try picking a time of day to shower and just stick with it. Btw, if you have dry and sensitive skin be sure to only use warm water, never hot…

I hate how unaffordable therapy is. As for journaling what worked for me was setting a schedule, I journal every evening before bed to get my thoughts out and I’ll even write “I have nothing to say” if I don’t feel like journaling that day just to be sure I stick with the habit. I would probably try to journal after school every day if I were in your shoes, or maybe before family dinner if your family eats together so you get the gunk out of your head before you have to interact with others

If you have the money/insurance, I suggest therapy with an accredited therapist, you can’t just stop being angry but you can figure out why you’re angry and learn healthy coping mechanisms and better approaches to communication through cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy. Don’t be afraid of it, and don’t worry if the first therapist or few therapists aren’t a right fit for you, that is totally normal. If you don’t have access to therapy, maybe try journaling? Like you said about ranting…

I know people are saying lift or swim (and I don’t disagree at all) but also. Like what is your sex life actually like? Because sometimes our blocks towards expressing ourselves sexually as women have nothing to do with our actual physique and simply getting in better shape might not fix that. Are you able to relax when you and your boyfriend are kissing etc? Do you tense up? What would happen if your bf gave you a massage (not necessarily a sexy one)? Do you have a history of sexual abuse or ma…

I don’t think that would be dramatic at all. You’re in the vetting process and this guy isn’t showing his value to you. I’m also suspicious of that 11pm-2am thing. I know plenty of lawyers and they have time to text over lunch etc, but I also should say I don’t know his specialty or if maybe he’s currently working a really difficult case with long hours

What your mom did was wrong and she both scapegoated her anger onto you and enabled the abuse you endured from your father. Those feelings towards her are natural. I can see that being worse, and I hope you find an actually decent therapist to help with this

TRP doesn’t cover this because TRP is about adults having sexual/romantic relationships with other adults. I think you really need to consider that framing what happened to you the way you are is doing you no favors

Aside from underscoring what others have said about seeking help from a qualified and understanding therapist, I actually don’t think you should be ashamed of yourself for that final interaction necessarily. A married couple brought in a third party and either didn’t realize that their fantasy would blow up in their faces or simply were too interested in gratifying a fantasy to consider that a possibility. It’s extremely common for threesomes to end up as big points of conflict for couples. You …

For books by Jung I’d start with The Undiscovered Self, though my favorite is Memories, Dreams, Reflections. I don’t love Jordan Peterson as much as a lot of people do but he does have good lectures on Jung (if I remember right, Jung is his specialty in academia) if you’re into watching YouTube vids/lectures. I also like this documentary on Jung, it has a lot of footage of him

Re: first paragraph—don’t take it as an indicator of anything about you if your first try at therapy didn’t work out. It’s super common that it takes a few tries to find the right therapist and also I feel you on the cost/lack of insurance, i didn’t get into regular therapy until my late 20s for the same reason actually. As to the second paragraph, all I can tell you is you’re being very harsh on yourself and in my experience that harshness actually can cause a person to get stuck in the depress…

I’m curious what may have happened in the intervening months that caused you to lose your confidence—don’t feel like you have to tell me about it, just consider whether whatever that was is something you might need some outside help with. There are great therapists in the world, and plenty of them are Christian or more traditional leaning if that is a source of concern for you. It kinda sounds like you had a bad experience or string of bad experiences that left you disconnected from yourself. I …

There’s a difference between the advice you’d get at r/relationships, which is really like “leave him and do nothing to fix or improve yourself because he’s the only problem and you’re perfect as is,” and most of the advice I’ve seen here advocating someone to leave a relationship, which is really like “leave him and take a good long hard look at yourself, your behaviors, what you’re doing to attract low quality dudes and why you’ve been willing to tolerate or even accept their bad treatment of …

I feel like I need to be honest and say I’m not so sure about this as a blanket rule. I agree in general, and rarely ever say anything like that to posters here, but we do get posts from girls and women who are pretty clearly in abusive situations from time to time. Staying with an abusive man isn’t RPW to me. Working on a basically healthy if not ideal relationship is RPW to me. Does that make sense? I also think there’s a big difference between saying, “quit dating this guy you’ve been seeing …

I love this question so much! My ideal lady is aware of her comportment/manners, but not stuffy or uptight. She can talk to anyone, she’s warm and inviting. She’s involved in her neighborhood/community and her church if she’s into that sort of thing, but her involvement isn’t just a way to derive a sense of superiority to others—she actually cares about people and wants to see her community thriving. She’s well dressed in a timeless way, and she knows what colors make her shine. She smells good,…

I’ve been getting into indie perfumes lately! It’s turning into a whole hobby. R/indiemakeupandmore has been my go to place to learn about indie perfumes and other products. For mainstream perfume, I love Serge Lutens and Dior. If anyone is looking to buy a higher priced perfume and wants to find a deal, check fragrancenet.com! They’re a discount site and I’ve ordered from there before with no problems.

Also, the title of your thread says you want men to protect you/gravitate toward you, but you are going out of your way to criticize men repeatedly in this thread, which is incredible. First: be your actual self. If your self isn’t that great right now, work on it. But don’t be fake. Don’t fake interest. Don’t be overly saccharine or nice. Guys (and people in general really) can sense and react to fakeness and desperation

Your husband needs therapy. He really does. OCD is not an easy thing to live with, and having a professional help you navigate it makes a night and day difference. It’s literally life saving. I hope he can see the light on that eventually. I know some people really reject the idea of therapy as somehow being weak, but it isn’t at all.

I feel a couple things: One, this seems true of both sexes. RP guys obviously won’t be focused on the other side of the equation, but I wouldn’t marry a dude with an insane n count who hadn’t clearly grown and changed his ways. Two, the people arguing about whether or not someone can grow up and move past being promiscuous seem so cynical to me. Anyone is capable of maturing and becoming a better person if they’re willing to do the work.

I can only assume “infiltrate” means read two threads and draw wildly inaccurate conclusions from it. I showed up here knowing nothing but stereotypes about mens redpill stuff and expected what the article described, and instead found a lovely community. Honey you need to be completely single and find yourself a good therapist or counselor. Neither of these men sound like good partners, and you seem like a young woman who has no idea who she is or what she wants yet. He’s a research scientist, in his 30s. He’s very likely truly apolitical. And he doesn’t want to talk about politics probably because he sees it as a subject that inevitably leads to emotional reactions which if he’s anything like the scientists I know, he probably hates Tbh, if it matters this much to you, you should seek a different mate.

This is probably true for close one on one opposite sex friendship, but to say someone can’t hang out with their friend and someone else who‘s the opposite sex is taking it way way way too far. That’s like being offended if my husband hangs out with his buddy and his buddy’s wife at the same time or something. Similarly being upset at your husband for hanging with an old male friend of his and a lesbian would be very weird.

I have a friend who’s about a decade and a half older than me. She’s beautiful inside and out, very kind, involved in her community. She’s an artist with a thriving career, which isn’t really my career path but I know how hard that is and can respect how much effort she’s put in to get where she is. I’d say she’s one of my role models for sure. My sophomore year English world lit teacher is another. If he’s in worse shape than you and you want to keep working out together as a fun couples activity, bump down the difficulty of the next workout video you two do. I think this is half true? It’s absolutely true for some men. My bff’s parents were like this: her mom worked her butt off to keep a roof over their heads while her dad finished med school and he did leave her for a younger, fitter woman once his career took off. But she also married him because he was going to be a doctor, and he’s a sort of narcissistic man who cares way more about status than about anything else. You don’t have to be religious to want a long term relationship or form a lasting one (as your parents show). I don’t think most of us here are perfectly gorgeous leggy blondes but I can get where you’re coming from. It’s probably good to limit your exposure to femcel if it’s getting toxic, that’s a smart move. How is your relationship with yourself, dating/men aside? Therapy will work, sometimes it takes a long time to find the right person. Maybe try looking for a faith based female therapist? I feel like that demo would be the most understanding of you and your current issues. I do want to say, 2 is nothing. I think we can’t consider either gender solely to blame for the way things are, personally. A lot of these things come down to how much an individual or a society values tradition and what those traditions actually are. The second. If I’m settling down to spend the entire rest of my life with a man, it’s much much more important that we’re physically and emotionally connected and have good rapport and chemistry than that he could just spend lots of money on me. Also, unless you’re marrying one of the absolute richest people, even wealthy people run into periods of financial instability sometimes (often through no fault of their own, like everyone who’s recently lost so much due to coronavirus and lockdowns etc)…

I don’t mind that men comment, so much as I mind when men comment without respecting our perspective. Even in the replies to this there are examples of guys who are here in good faith (say, they want to get married one day, or they want to understand women better from our own perspective), and then there are guys who are... not here in good faith. I don’t mind the first type of male commenter and there are threads here where I think their perspective can be particularly valuable

I remember your post. I do not believe you’re someone incapable of loving other people, I think your husband broke your trust so deeply that your connection with him is deeply damaged. And if you do choose divorce, it may be a journey to get to a place of trust with someone else, but that does NOT mean it’s impossible for you. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, it must be very hard.

You seem like a lovely, sweet woman with low self esteem, and I think you’d be better served with a therapist or life coach to help you work on your self esteem than any kind of cosmetic procedure. I checked your post history too and I think you’re cute. Also, even if you were genuinely ugly facially, that wouldn’t preclude being a loving, feminine woman. Plenty of the older women who I look up to/whose marriages seem to be very healthy aren’t stunning beauties, and their husbands still love and…

I agree with the other women who’ve commented. It can be hard getting over low self esteem especially when it comes from bullying! There are lots of books out there but I’d personally recommend to try therapy out if it’s in your budget and you have the time. Having a therapist can be really helpful, they’re good for accountability and just talking about this stuff out loud can really help to get over it too.

Our society’s focus on climbing the ladder and having the most prestigious career can be so damaging. I seriously can’t imagine looking down on anyone for choosing teaching if their heart was in it—good teachers are a literal blessing, and good science teachers are especially lacking at least where I grew up. I think it’s very admirable you became one.

It’s so funny. This article is like a mirror of the bad/wrong ideas I had about this subreddit when I first discovered it and started lurking here ages ago. In reality I think this sub is actually pretty dang diverse in terms of our backgrounds and politics, and it’s also just a good subreddit.

Always remember that men (just like any other group!) aren’t a hive mind. Sure lots of guys are jerks, but lots of guys are great too. You don’t like it when men paint women with overly broad strokes, so it’s intellectually honest to be sure you catch yourself when you do that to them

Watching people have regular sex would be one thing, but most popular porn categories these days have weird, questionable twists. Like bdsm, or incest, or gangbangs, or weird racial stuff. That adds to the problems porn can cause. I also think there’s a big difference between having a magazine or a few video tapes like back in the day that you use to get off, vs having every flavor of pornography at your fingertips.
/r/RedPillWomen21/06/20 12:39 PM

I genuinely think a lot of women feel peer pressured into pretending they enjoy porn and don’t think it’s a big deal. Because if you admit you’re anti-porn to regular people who aren’t aware of why porn is/could be bad, they just assume you’re a prude who doesn’t have fun. I know I used to feel pressured to say things like this, when I was in my teens and early twenties.

To be fair, I think this question is pretty well suited to this sub, but I do like that the mods limit male contributions so we don’t get overwhelmed The difference between how “the red pill” is thought about by the contributors here (female and the trusted males who comment) is pretty different than in the guys’ subs. But maybe the Christian redpill subreddit would be a good avenue for this question too, since Christians tend to value commitment and marriage

I find RPW always brings me back down to reality as it conveys such a genuine window into womens own goals and values. I think something happens where we all forget that we all more alike than we are different. Some men want hot bar chicks, and some girls want the chad with money. But in the middle... men and women are just as anxious as each other about dating, and self-worth, and wanting to feel like they can figure this whole "life" thing out. This is a great paragraph and I definitely agree.

Not showering too much is really important. I have a tendency towards dry skin and eczema that’s gotten worse with age and cutting back on showering/bathing (I went from two or three daily to just once a day quicker showering under more lukewarm water) plus moisturizing after every shower with a lotion that had ceramides in it has been the only thing to really help with that.

I was doing really well on the self maintenance/care routine I came up with for myself, but I got thrown for a total loop by some sudden family drama and backslid so badly. I feel like I lost all my momentum at the exact time that everything was starting to feel like an ingrained habit that would stick. So now I have to keep myself from just giving up and try to keep optimistic because if I got to that point once, surely I’ll be back there again in a few weeks if I’m diligent about it. This is a…

1.I want to know how you ladies define your submissive behaviour or lifestyle? I only submit to a man I trust and respect. Trust, respect, and submission are earned, not freewheelingly given to any man. 2.What makes your captain feel dominant? I’m happily in nun mode so I’m not the person to answer this 3.What can i do to avoid going against my values yet be submissive? Being submissive should never be more important than your values. I don’t think sex robots are going to advance enough to please people who don’t have robot kinks anytime in the next few decades. I think hookup apps are already going out of style, I don’t do online dating and my friends who did use tinder hated it, lots of them have already switched to more old school dating sites where the focus is on finding a relationship. I think MeToo is already dead. Liberals decided it was over when they ran Biden and didn’t want to deal with his history

Since so many women gave great responses on character traits I’ll say something physical that makes a woman beautiful to me: some women move with this fluid grace in their body language that I just find so enchanting and beautiful. It’s something I’ll notice in a group of women when we’re out together or just observing people in public.

Better or worse depends on context. How much is the husband making while the wife stays at home? Is it enough to fully pay all the bills and still put money into savings? Or is it going to be a constant financial struggle trying to raise a child with only one income? i mean which is better: a sahm mom and an overworked, underpaid dad who never sees his kid, or two parents who work at least part time? I’ll also say this—I was raised by a SAHM and a full time working dad. The first few years were …

Start small. Like, start with stretching and walks to ease your body into more movement, then add in short video workouts at home. Don’t get discouraged if you can only do five minutes of cardio/Pilates/whatever, just keep doing that five minutes every day or every other day until it gets easier, then add a few minutes. Little steps are the best way to avoid going in over your head or over exerting yourself and ending up strained or injured

Gosh there are so many cool volunteering opportunities depending on where you live. I feel like Habitat might be a great one for meeting good men especially. I know a lot of things have been disrupted by the pandemic of course, but here are a few ideas -for now you could volunteer at a local food bank. Lines are huge everywhere and food banks need volunteers more than ever with the way things are. This can be a deeply satisfying bit of charity work, because you know you’re immediately helping th…

consistency in doing what he said he would do This is a huge one that I learned the hard way. My last serious ex was a guy who would say he’d ___ (help me move this big box to a shelf I can’t reach/take out the trash/etc) but never make good on it. It honestly made me lose respect for him over time

The men on mgtow are NOT the men you’re going to want to date. Who cares if those guys only like women under 25? It sounds like men are attracted to you if you get pushy messages after parties. You might intimidate some guys by being closed off (it might read as icy or haughty) but that’s not something you couldn’t fix if you wanted to, and it’s probably for the best you have that going on in college anyways. College guys, as those messages show, are often only after one thing lol. You’re going …

I’m still trying to fully understand this philosophy but from what I’ve seen, the idea of “submitting” could be phrased alternately as surrendering or even compromising. I understand why “submitting” is used, but I think that word can be a little loaded, especially with most average people associating it more with porn or bdsm than anything healthy I’ve seen it said by women here that “submission is a gift,” ie: it’s not de facto, you don’t just submit to any man you go on a date with or any rel…

He knows himself better than his mother knows him, so if he knows that going into the job force is the right choice for himself, he should do it. Just be sure he knows that you support his choices no matter what they are.

The “no” test is so important. And I bet I’m a lot less conservative than many of the women in this subreddit and I can confirm men from either/any political party can be abusive. Someone’s politics really have very little to do with how they behave in interpersonal and romantic relationships
