I feel you my man. Same situation here. Though in my case my mother doesn't have any specific agenda. She just doesn't know what she's doing. And the funny part is she doesn't even realize at times that she's being manipulative. It's almost cute.

If you think you really have depression/anxiety, seek professional help. Celebrate every action that you take, beat yourself up with every action that you don't take. The only way forward is taking action consistently. Then remember that because of that consistency, the man you are today is better than the man you are yesterday.

I cannot tell you what is best. This is true because life is meaningless except for one thing, a biological victory, i.e. passing on your genes to children who in turn are viable enough to give offspring of their own. The writer was using a very narrow, yet popular, definition of stoicism and that is "not expressing your emotions outwardly". If you guys take a look at the APA guidelines itself: https://www.apa.org/about/policy/boys-men-practice-guidelines.pdf, the only two places that you can find the key word "stoic", are as follow: Psychologists can discuss with boys and men the messages they have received about withholding affection from other males to help them understand how components of traditional mas…

It's difficult to imagine someone spending all the effort and going through all the troubles in formal education just to ultimately fuck "youthful males". But good thing that you specify only "some women" might fall into this very particular category, so no matter how improbable it might seem, it could still happen.

I understand it now. I've been looking at this through the point of view of a person who would collect n-count data from women for a hypothetical research study (this would be the position of the school administrator or professor in the class size example). Your example applies to the point of view of men who are, in some sense, collecting data but for a very different purpose and of course a highly biased sampling method (or POV of students who are asked their class size). Your post and your ex…

God. If the women don't even put themselves out there and refuse to play the game, why would you even want to estimate their sluttiness in the first place? They are simply not the objects of interest here.
/r/TheRedPill30/10/18 10:23 AM
-1

No i get the basic idea just fine. Your explanation is resting solely on the assumption that men tend to run into sluttier women. But it's equally fine to assume that men tend to run into less slutty women, and therefore this loosely defined group could be oversampled as well.
/r/TheRedPill30/10/18 09:21 AM
1

The true average of the three groups is (0 + 3 + 50)/3 = 17.66 (not 26.5 as you calculated - you leave out the 0's from your average without justification) I admit this is a miscalculation on my part for omitting the n-count = 0 group. From the article you referred to: The problem is that when you survey students, you oversample large classes. If there are 10 students in a class, you have 10 chances to sample that class. If there are 100 students, you have 100 chances. In general, if the class s…

Your point is valid but it doesn't counter mine. We are talking different things here.
/r/TheRedPill29/10/18 12:36 PM

That's not how you decide the weights used for computing weighted average. If you are sleeping with 1 woman with n-count = 3 and 1 woman with n-count = 50, the weighted average coincides with simple average and it would be (50x1 + 3x1)/(1+1) = 26.5. What you are trying to say here is that we shouldn't ignore the base rate when considering the slut level of women. The problem with this is, we do not know the base rate of women sluttiness. This means you can either buy into the AWALT or the NAWALT…

Seneca himself had to deal with chronic illness for the most part of his life, and his political career didn't take off until his early 40s. Even then, he had to deal with the tyrant Caligula until AD 41 when he was exiled to Corsica island due to a probably false accusation. After eight years he returned to Rome and On the Shortness of Life was written. It is through these kinds of trial that words truly become actions, and actions make the man.

Here is one of my favorite Seneca's quotes, i meditate on this whenever i fuck up: No prizefighter can go with high spirits into the strife if he has never been beaten black and blue; the only contestant who can confidently enter the lists is the man who has seen his own blood, who has felt his teeth rattle beneath his opponent's fist, who has been tripped and felt full force of his adversary's charge, who has been downed in body but not in spirit, one who, as often as he falls, rises again with…

Women do actually rate nice guys quite well in terms of attractiveness. They did it because of social desirability bias inherent in the questionnaires they are filling in. Most women are more agreeable and so tend to be political when what they disclose might be scrutinized by the public.

This post is without any substance, but merely relies on a catchy title. Yes, there are TRP observations being thrown up here and there, but what do they all have to do with your title: Stoicism is an evolutionary defense mechanism in men? Then it is also misleading. It was not "designed to protect us" but we all rather apply it to our own situation. While Stoicism requires conscious and consistent disciplining of the mind, defense mechanisms are not. Defense mechanisms are unconscious processes…

This is good advice. However i think it's good to have a specific number pegged down in case you need to adjust the diet on the fly, eg. time when you dine out and socialize and not having much control over what you eat. I personally got used to making quick mental notes of what i eat so i can 'break' from my diet for one or two meals and not worry so much about it as i can make up for the surplus/deficit later.

To elaborate, take death for example. You don't know when you are going to die, and whatever time that has passed is lost forever. Dead time. This is one of the things that you cannot control. What you can control is how you decide to spend whatever time you re having now. And hopefully remaining time until the end of the day if you don't happen to die. This is why trp stresses so much on valuing your time. Once you adopt this understanding of death, you will take actions to get closer to your g…

I am new to TRP but i will offer my two cents. I take it that being socially conditioned by the blue pill for so long, to act in the so-called less-empathic-way is TRP method of overcompensating for the tendency to please everyone that the blue pill society has raised men. Why the need for over-compensating you may ask? Because the blue pill mindset has stuck for so long, you will need a kind of 'shock' treatment/dosage of the opposite in order to bend your mindset back to the more balanced stat…

The mtDNA is larger for ALL regions its just that its more pronounced in those regions as there has been a greater amount of sex biased migrations. Did you read the paper? They found that We identified 2,228 SNPs in the NRY sequences and 2,163 SNPs in the mtDNA sequences. Our results confirm the controversial assertion that genetic differences between human populations on a global scale are bigger for the NRY than for mtDNA, although the differences are not as large as previously suggested.
