The system isn't here for victims, as hard as that is to accept. I wish I'd never reported mine. I was gaslight, interrogated and bullied by the police. When he was arrested the procurator fiscal (person who decides if it goes to court where I live) decided not to prosecute because apparently there wasn't enough evidence, despite me being covered in bruises and witnesses seeing us leave the party together.
