9	The dad bod preference is nothing more than virtue signalling When I think of a dad bod I’d say it’s a guy who isnt super chiseled and might have a little bit of a beer belly, or just has some meat on their bones. Personally I like dad bod because it’s just seems a normal body shape. It’s not that they’re fat, it’s that they’re not at peak physique because they’re a dad who’s taking care of kids and has more important things to worry about than the way they look. 1	No amount of body positivity for men will ever change anything for non-traditionally attractive guys. It will only make women less comfortable admitting their actual preferences. I see what you’re saying but I do think it has less to do with preference and more to do with society’s idea of what to find attractive. People have more or less been conditioned into what to find attractive by seeing fit, tall men on magazine covers, tv, etc.. just like men have been conditioned in the same way about women. One example I think about the most is the idea that a man has to be over 6 foot. As a 6’2 girl, I find this idea so crazy.
