Maybe it is where I live, but I have never seen street harassment perpetrated on a female. I do reside in an exurban area so maybe this colors my perspective. However, I have walked around New York City (Manhattan) and never once did I observe a woman being harassed. I am sure that there are some women who have been harassed, but at least on the East Coast of the United States, it does not appear to be a large problem.
