The starting point should be 50\50. If one parent doesn't deserve that, or as you're describing here, if they want less than it should be adjusted in a fair manner. There are all kinds of pro- and anti- and even more ambivalent circumcision opinions out there. The issue with it is consent. You can't do that to an infant who has no say in the matter. Personally, I'm circimcised. I don't think it's a big deal. If I weren't I would likely get it done as an adult. But I would never do it to my son, because it's his penis and not mine. You can't make that kind of permanent and irreparabale decision for someone else with them having any kind of input

I think her complaint here is valid. Even if the whole assault incident is questionable, if there is someone in a class that causes that kind of distress and anxiety to a fellow student it really shouldn't be a big deal to schedule their classes around each other. I don't see the connection between driving on the side walk and having no regards for the safety of others. They all very clearly stopped when the guys wouldn't move out of the way. And having reduced visibility would increase the chance of hitting something, but that would damage their own car and risk hurting themselves, and I doubt they're going to take that risk. But there is still an argument for discrimination here. The insurance provider is selling a product to everyone and then charging some people more because of their gender. It's believed that all men are more dangerous when really only some are. Probably even most are. But there are no small number of young men who are very safe drivers who pay more than they should be cause they are grouped in with the dangerous ones, solely because of gender.

CBC is really pushing the agenda here, and it's been suggested in some quarters they are doing so to try and recover their image after the Ghomeshi debacle. Some of the local papers in Halifax have been a bit more objective and they are a few voices of reason in /r/halifax. It is really very vocal minority that are raising a stink here, but that's the case in most things on the feminist agenda. Unfortunately the do have the ear of the CBC

The problem was that they made the comments in a Facebook group named after the school program they were in. That then draws the reputation of the school into question and so they are suspended. If the jokes had been made under a different banner no one would have cared. Note though that they are only suspended from clinical work with the public, not from the classroom.

They are suspended from clinical activities. They are still in the classroom, but not in the clinic working on the public. That's fair because ultimately the only thing that has been damaged here is Dalhousie's reputation. It was a private setting of off colour humour and no more. If it had been done under a banner other than Dalhousie Dentistry Gentlemans Club than it would be a non-issue

Treatment can focus largely on practical issues – such as getting homeless people an appointment at the Jobcentre. Homelessness for men is so easy to fix! Just get them a job despite high unemployment rates. So there's either a carousel of men being homeless and then finding a job and getting off the street and being replaced there by some guy who just lost his job to a homeless person, or it's not so easy a fix
