Talk to people. If you can, take the focus off yourself. Feels good to help others. Anyway, I relate. Break a leg brother.

Except marriage does not provide sexual security.

About band-aid peeling - it is less painful when peeled off slowly. Source: Dan Ariely, a behavioral psychologist and author of Predictably Irrational, performed experiments to determine pain levels after he spent everyday for a year or more having nurses tear bandages quickly from his burn wounds. I'm not saying this holds for relationships.

Really appreciate you taking the time. I am working my way through NMMNG. The author hit the nail on the head. This is great stuff. I can't find anything relevant when searching for "Affair 180" on google or reddit.

I read: Misandry Bubble, Year 1 of Rational Male, RP Antibiotic Nuke, and I am most of the way down the list of "required theory reading." But your question made me notice I've not gotten much into the sidebar here on marriedredpill. Second question is a harder one. So I'm currently lifting 3 times a week and running once (I'm a good runner but I'm working on mass now). I'm reading materials here and seeking the counsel of more experienced RPers. I think next is a hobby, meditation and socializi…

Thinking of tomorrow is a great tool. I can comprehend that and make concrete, achievable plans way more easily than I can mentally approach "the rest of my life."

That is fundamentally different isn't it? Damn I want things to be that way. Actually I am excited just to perceive the difference and know I can work toward that level of value and respect. Thanks.

Yeah I can listen to my gut more. I do detect a lot of bullshit and then end up rationalizing it after hearing her hamster. Gotta trust myself too.

Is that to say I need to progress from level 1 to 7 or just jump in there? I checking out MMSL. Thanks for the rec's.

Great visual language man. Can't help but picture it. You're right. I don't know what even the near term future holds, but as long as I am not quaking in my feelings and I'm making myself a better man, I will be happy.

Thanks, I am listening. Agreed I am broken (but not irreparably!). I will buy NMMNG. Been wanting to. Do you recommend hiding the book from the wife? I mean, would her knowledge of its contents undermine their effectiveness? I read up on gaslighting. Terrifying stuff. Some if it is familiar and I will sharpen my senses to it.

She loves attention. This guys photo collection of her did make an impact. But several times today she has offered little justifications or excuses for why she appeared in almost the whole album. Like maybe facebook is filtering his pictures to show you relevant ones. Since she is mostly unwilling and somewhat unable to see when the intentions of less direct men are still to be more than friends (if ever possible) I will have to create those boundaries in order for this to work.

I see that. I don't think she's conscious of it, but she's had no need to earn anything from me. No need and no desire since beta behavior is also unattractive. Become a better man is my number 1.

Thanks for the specific actionable advise. I don't go out socially by myself anymore because I moved away from all my good mates. So I'm demonstrating low social value. I'm also inevitably losing out on social skill development. I haven't thought of my own shit as hamstering before. That's humbling. Would you say more about dread or suggest reading?

Right. Jealousy is a passive victim mentality. I don't want to be at the mercy of emotions. Not sure that I am better than her now, but I definitely can be. Thanks.

Sounds like you'll be a bit ashamed taking the money. Understandably. Even though it also appears you really should take it, that's not easy. My point is to be aware of this negative effect on your perception of yourself so you can offset it by actively earning your own respect through other means (self-improvement). That'll be more effective than just trying to convince yourself it should feel OK to take it, and others should understand, etc. That internal conversation seems inescapable, but by…

This makes sense to me. Hate to take my time with such a painful process but I think you're right that I need better grounding/frame to be confident of my decision.

I think this may have been it. I also wondered if being asked didn't make her feel more powerful/valuable.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
