Because it’s a cheat code to instantly winning any discussion. It instantly deletes your argument and all rebuttals via strawmanning and henceforth all arguments become void as they’re just in service of justifying your implicit misogyny… boom.

Because women and other men enforce those norms onto them. It’s not obsession but instead those who deviated from the norms being pushed back into their place

I don’t think most, maybe the vast majority of, western women find the top Korean men very attractive or ideal. That’s cultural as well. OP seems to, and I am, referring to western masculinity standards (or at least American since I’m American)

5-6 days a week for all of your young adult life is literally what is needed for the desirable “fit but slim” look. Even with some steroid use. Average” means include “fit”. “Fit but average” does not exist. It’s crazy how much media has moved the fitness standard that “average” means toned

Face work, lip fillers, etc. do far less for a man’s appearance than on a woman’s in stereotypical attractiveness norms compared to increased musculature size on the whole body. I didn’t say men can’t get those, they obviously can. Women can also do steroids but that and dedicating a substantial part of their life to gym to gain muscle mass would likely lower their stereotypical attractiveness. Tldr I just think available cosmetic surgery is less affirming to male identity than female

And cosmetic surgery is more available and more impactful. Do steroids? Still need to work out for it. Lip fillers? Implants? Boom, it’s there. You can rectify losing the genetic lottery with some cash. Eating too much? There’s a drug for that.

Pretty much. I think there’s a slim change relationship expectations are just lagging other changes, but it’s getting late for that already. It’ll worsen with time as the socioeconomic positions continue to shift

If women continue to want provider partners, there will be a shrinking pool of men desirable to them and more distraught mid to lower income men. It will also be harder for higher income men to easily impress women with their income, but this is fine and more equal imo. If women's dating preferences adapt to their new places in society, not much changes. I think we are heading for a situation where women largely still hold traditional desires in relationship dynamics despite holding new roles in…

My experience as well. My best friend is a woman but when they discuss their dating lives it’s a bit demoralizing and they struggle to understand when I complain about mine. Being friends with women humanizes them but humans have bad sides

You only hear and see those men because they’re the awful violent ones who will publicize that. Ones looking inwards won’t be publicizing it and probably ashamed to speak out given assumptions lonely men are rapists. You only hear the rapists, so 100% of lonely men you’ve heard have been rapists, so lonely men are rapists.

Looking for social and romantic connection is an innate human desire. I mean if we're ignoring human needs, why not just shut off all friendship and all leisure and only focus on the grind, right? Leisure is overrated and only for people at their undefined peak

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
