Then you have the fact that if this teacher was a man, there would have been no trial. Yeah, you got that right. They would have just shot him on the spot.

Not necessarily. That kind of compulsive manic behavior is not unusual. If she was trying to self-medicate with alcohol on top of the meds I could see it. You're probably right, but either way she wasn't in her right mind.

If she is bipolar and was on a manic high, that could very well be true. If they were giving her Lamictal, I can totally see it. I've never seen anyone actually get better on lamictal, but they keep prescribing it like there's no tomorrow. I have a close relative (by marriage) with bipolar and this kind of behavior is totally consistent. If she had not been sleeping and was either having or on the verge of a psychotic episode, she really night not remember.

The high price of banging models. They were a lot cheaper to screw back in the 90's. The relevant question is will the Republicans give you a tax break for your super model eye candy?

On the flip side who could go out and party after they killed their kid? And carry the body around in the trunk of their car while just going about their business? I've smelled bodies two days old and you'd never get that smell out of a car. The family is messed up but that messed up?

I don't think that twit could have murdered anyone without leaving enough DNA behind to clone herself. And I don't think she could have handled duct tape without leaving latent prints behind. That's really hard to do since it wants to stick to latex gloves and not let go. Just seemed like a case that didn't make sense from the beginning. Smells like a dead body to me, let's charge her!

Talk to her definitely. I'd try the sly, "Hi, my name is Derp" approach. She'll never see that one coming. I wouldn't add her to Facebook just yet. Say hello first and see how it goes. I wouldn't add her to FB until your relationship status changes.

It's no big deal, just keep it low profile. As long as it doesn't impact your productivity or objectivity, I'm not seeing a problem.

That's an interesting question. I've found what works the best is to get myself into a mental state of amused detachment.

It's easier when you have quota. It's a crutch but it works.

Here's a mission for you. Get shot down 10 times in a row. I'll almost guarantee it you won't ever make it to 10, even if you try. The direct approach is far more effective than most people realize.

Been there. So when I say nothing good can come out of this, you can believe me. Here are the possible outcomes, none of them in any sense good. You end up having sex and feel like crap. You end up having sex and it's great, but you're still stuck with a wife. She gets miffed if you don't hit on her and gives you the cold shoulder at work. Once you go out and start drinking, that kicks in a certain set of expectations. It's better to make a move and get turned down than not make a move. Otherwis…

There's a difference between aloof and what you did. When I say ignore her, I mean look through her like she's not even there. If she joins a group you're in, you leave. I got that advise when I was in my teens, a bartender at a small club across from a Blue Cross office (the drinking age was 18 in those days). Got that advice from the bar manager. One of the cocktail waitresses...holy shit, dude. She was amazing, guys hit on her constantly. Anyway, I followed his advice, to the letter. Didn't l…

I think it's a lost cause. You lost the minute you started talking to her, the date attempt was the death blow. Sorry, bud.

Ignore her. Not just ignore her, act like she doesn't exist. Don't look at her, don't talk to her, don't acknowledge her in any way. If you have to acknowledge her at all, be as gruff and condescending as the situation allows. Unless you can subtly make fun of how she looks in front of other people, go ahead with that. I know it sounds counter-intuitive and in some ways it's perverse, but if you stick to that, she'll come to you. If you act like every other guy, you'll get treated like every oth…

You live in NY, the city of endless premium pussy, and you're trying to figure out a subway schedule? Hello, McFly. There is no convenient way around the subway logistics without being totally obvious. Ask her out without the other two. Seems simple enough. Then you can take a cab. My solution would be to lose the coworkers are start getting involved in more outside activities.

Dumped because you couldn't do lunch? That seems highly unlikely, especially since you offered an alternative. Maybe you hit the gas a little hard with the texting, but unless there's more to the story it doesn't sound like it was anything you did. Excessive texting is annoying but usually forgivable.

Who knows. It's a little odd, but there could be a lot of reasons. You handled it the right way. Ask about it if it bothers you that much. I don't think she'll flake on you, either.

Hand her a note. Not during class, but maybe right before. All she can say is no...actually, she could say a lot more than that, but most likely not.

You make another good point. A sense of humor is invaluable. If you can make women laugh, you'll get laid.

So make up something that would get their attention? What I'm getting at is DO something interesting so you don't have to make it up. Actually help some scientific organization compute orbital paths, or intern with an engineering company that builds space ships or aircraft or anything. Being a math major is great, but translate that into something interesting. That way you don't have to say "math major" you can say, "I help build rocket ships." Which one of those answers would be more likely to …

I'm currently in my last year of university majoring in Mathematics. That's not necessarily a handicap, but I might suggest balancing it out with something creative. Music, art, or something athletic. Just so "math major" doesn't have to the first thing out of your mouth. It's okay to be smart but it can be intimidating to some girls, especially math. I just feel like mentioning these things will kill any chance I have with the target. Might suggest stop thinking about women as targets instead o…

Just be yourself and if you get one of those flaky women who play games with your relationship, don't take the bait. Move along with your life, don't get bogged down in a relationship yo-yo. Just let her know you enjoy your time together and if she'd like to do something, fine. If not, then just move along with your life. Don't play the "who cares less" game, it's a sign of dysfunctional relationship or dysfunctional partner, either way you're farther ahead without it. Rise above high school gam…

Because the same people at Glenn Beck's rally holding signs proclaiming they want the government out of our lives, are okay with government getting between a woman and her doctor and otherwise sticking the government's nose into the bedroom. The hypocrisy movement.

"If that were in Utah, they'd definitely both be sex offenders." If that were Utah they would have been stoned to death. Or is that Afghanistan? So easy to confuse the two.

It's really not all that unusual, either historically or in modern times. Only in ancient times people were more open about it. As long as they're not making inbred babies that the rest of society has to care for, who cares? It's none of the state's business. And since when is sex between consenting underage people illegal?
