I can only tell you my experience so far. I was/am that Joe schmo from off the street lol. I havent done anything like this before in my life. I just thought it was interesting and said fuck it, why not give it a try. I would say that if you stick with it and you actually like welding, you'll be fine. It is difficult as well challenging and there is a learning curve but its not impossible. I was in the military, got out, got my associates, and then decided to take it up.
