Stats - 5'9”, 28, 160 lb Reading - Warriors & Wildmen + How To Win Friends & Influence People. Social - Still working daily at the church, and only coming into contact with staff. Quarantine is making it hard to meet with any of the students. Looking to see a few this weekend and have some face time with the ones who are dying for interaction. Mission - Music is what God has placed in my heart to use for Him. This quarantine has been both a blessing and a curse. The bright side is that I have a …

Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 13 Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. 15 Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. 16 Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for i…

Stats - 5'9”, 28, 158 lb Reading - I've been listening to Warriors & Wildmen this week. Social - I've visited one of the middle schools in my area and had lunch with a bunch of kids from the church. Their faces lit up when they saw me and it was awesome for their unsaved friends to meet me. Mission - Use my music as a way to minister and make disciples. It's going well so far. I am known locally and the worship songs I've written are being sung by teenagers. Believing God will continue to allow …

Holy crap bro, I’m so sorry to hear that. Since that experience have you stayed away from connecting with other youth groups?

I wanted to respond sooner, but I took most of yesterday to process all of this and pray. I was started to feel like I was going crazy in this situation, so thank you for bringing some clarity into this. I've said this a thousand times, and I'll say it again: I love these students God has placed in my life. My call to disciple them hit me hard when I started here, and I've gone out of my way to pursue relationships with all of them outside of the church. I've seen them starving for biblical disc…

This is true - they are definitely at fault here. The only reason you're upset is that the rules are being put into place as a reaction to your actions. If they were in place when you were hired you would probably not have thought a thing about it. It feels personal though, doesn't it? This definitely feels personal, and I think that's what I'm having such a hard time with. One final thought: find a way to connect with either pastor and start spending more time with that person. Show them your…

I definitely understand it, and I can see their POV. It’s just rough, man. I love these students so much. Most of them are begging for daily discipleship, and I’ve been able to supply that through the social media apps they use regularly. We do use GroupMe a lot, but the majority of students don’t like it/won’t use it. I’m going to ask what the limitations are with meeting in-person. There’s usually a few (the close ones to me) that like to meet up for lunch around the area. I just know that the…

That does make a lot of sense. It’s been hard to not use Snapchat because the entire youth group is on it and using it daily. They like to send stupid picture and get their streaks up. I don’t get it but they love it. As for the girl, she might have a tiny crush, but I’ve watched her behavior and actions around me like a hawk. She has never said anything even remotely weird or hinted at anything weird. She literally sends me bible verses she draws out. She’s so sweet and has a great heart!

All message have been saved, so I have undeniable proof of no weird exchanges. Plus, all of the youth primarily use Snapchat. And I was specifically brought on to, “create bonds and friendships with students”. Hard to do when you can’t use what they spend 90% of their time on. As someone who has been working with students for 4 years now, I’ll tell ya that big group chats don’t work out well with them. Especially for the students who want prayer or to share something on their heart. I have nothi…

I’ll get reprimanded, apparently. They’ve been extremely vague on all of these rules that popped outta the blue.

STATS: 5' 9", 164 pounds, 28, single PHYSICAL: I ended up getting the flu, and a sinus infection, so my gym time has basically been zero. I've had a lot of setbacks since 2020 started, but I'll be hitting the gym this week, despite feeling like crap. My body fat% is pretty good, I'm around 15%... still want to lose more. My fashion sense is good; I dress better than the majority of men I see. My eating has not been great. With being sick, I've let myself eat out more and do quick meals. Need to …

I felt okay until more recently and now I feel done with this world. As for what I think of God he doesn’t need me and is better off if I don’t butcher his gospel with my poor social ability. A good holy God needs good people that enjoy socializing to explain his message. That same God used a man that was a murderer and had a speech impediment to be his spokesman. Moses was positive he couldn't be used, but God uses the unlikely. I'm praying for you bro.

I actually need to do a write up on this, but a little over a year ago, my girlfriend was demanding I stop volunteering at my church and focus on her and the relationship. She suggested going into low-income housing and finding a trash job that would allow us to be together. Because getting married, to her, was more important than being called to ministry. It was a little sucky, cause I hadn't found this sub/red pill until the very end of the relationship. But as I picked God over her, a month a…

STATS/PHYSICAL: 28, 5'9", 164 pounds, Single. I have gotten sick twice since 2020 has started. The first time being minor, which put me out of the gym for a week, and now I'm getting over the flu. My progress is basically nil. Frustrating, but before catching the flu, I am 10 pounds shy of squatting my weight! A year ago that was impossible. I still don't look like a greek god, but at least the excess fat around my stomach/chest are starting to disappear. MENTAL/EMOTIONAL: I posted in last week'…

Thanks bro! I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I’ve definitely been focusing more on the man side of church instead of God. Thank you for pointing that out. The music part is definitely a real struggle, currently. I spend a lot of time practicing the worship songs for all of services, so that is a huge priority. But writing original worship songs has just fallen flat for me lately. Do you think it’s wrong for me to pursue creating music that isn’t worship songs? That’s a dilemma I’m de…

STATS: 28 year old, 5'9", 163, single. BIBLE STUDY: 2. I've been facing a bit of a crisis with my faith lately. PHYSICAL: I've been lifting consistently (all compound movements) and I've begun to see some progress. Took 2 weeks off because of being sick + depression, but I'm back at it. MENTAL: Going off of the BIBLE STUDY part, I just feel like I'm at an all time low. It's been awhile since I've posted in one of these OYS, so I'll try to condense this. I've worked at a church now for a year, an…

Incredibly wise response... thank you. Thankfully I haven’t spent one on one time with her, and I have backed off hard from her. I’ve been trying to get one of the female leaders to reach out to the girl more, so I’m praying that comes to fruition. I don’t like being in the wrong, but I definitely am here. I have a bad habit of falling into the savior mode, especially with girls. So I need to trust Christ more that He will deal with this situation. Thank you again for the response bro!

Thank you so much for taking the time write out such a thoughtful answer. I know I dumped out a lot in this OYS. I am far too attached. I haven’t had a moment for the past few months where I wasn’t thinking or worrying about this church, the youth group and the worship ministry. My selfish hobby, which is also my mission, is music. I’ve written and recorded a lot of music and have recently (over the past 2 years) made worship music. One of my singles has resonated with the youth here and they’ve…

OYS #3 STATS: 166, 5'9", 28 PHYSICAL: Consistently kept up with the gym and started doing the 5x5 program. Was doing a lot of the machines, but it looks like compound movements hit more muscles. One of the students from my church goes to the gym with me at least once a week and I've started inviting my best friend, which has been great. I haven't been counting my calories, which is definitely a problem. I binged Monday night because I was so stressed from work. My fashion sense is good... I'm on…

My mom has echoed that saying my whole life... I’ve gotten a lot better at it, but always room for improvement! And that’s a great response! I’ve had some situations pop up like that with some students, so that advice is fantastic. Are you in ministry or were ever in it?

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Great job here, you'll be expected to do this from time to time so when they come back and you have a little time, sit down and put a plan together with whatever materials you need to be ready for next time - because there WILL be a next time. This will also help eliminate stress because you will have made a plan ahead of time. I loved this. Planning is something I need to work harder on, because I easily procrastinate. Thank you for takin…

OYS #2 STATS: 5'9", 166, Single PHYSICAL: I have started taking my health seriously and have gone to the gym almost daily this past week. Skipped a day due to my whole body being sore from a workout and Sunday I only had 2 hours of downtime (full time ministry position so Sunday's are a work day). Pushing myself to workout hard to not only look better but to combat depression and boost my SMV. I don't eat lots of sugar so my diet isn't too bad, and I had a protein shake today... no idea if I'll …

Definitely been focusing on eggs a lot lately and about to start working in a lot of chicken breast. Need to avoid the work room at my church, because there's always sweets 😂 Right now I'm working hard to build relationships with them outside of the church. There's a kid that I go to the gym with who is a big part of the media team for youth and there's a girl on the youth worship team that will come and sing worship songs with me when I'm playing around the area at local markets. For how I'm di…

I’m not sure what my BF% is but I know it’s pretty low. I’d say I’m around 14%. Mainly trying to build muscle right now. I have a pretty easy program I’m falling that’s just alternating upper body and lower as I’m working to get good form before I do more intense deadlifts and whatnot. I am a youth and worship associate for my church. So I’m full time at the church and am with the teens a lot but in the forefront of the whole church as well, due to the worship part. It’s a weird dual-role but it…

Background / Stats: 28, 5'9", 158, Single. Full time at a church with youth/worship. Bible Study: 7. I read through a chapter each morning/various verses and meditate on them and send them to a few of the students I mentor at my church and star a discussion on it. Physical: I've had a gym membership for awhile now, but I've neglected it hard. Lots of excuses and depression kept me out of it. Went today and pushed myself hard and my mood brightened like crazy. So I’ve only been on my Red Pill journey for about 6-7 months now. But it was brought on by the slow failing of a relationship. Last year from November to December my girlfriend, of over a year, was constantly upset with me about something. Always disappointed, always resentful and always a complete jerk. I’m the type of person to keep my feelings to myself, but she was crying at me one night saying, “just open up and tell me how you feel!” At that time, I thought it would heal the relationship.…

All I can say is: don’t pursue women. Focus and pursue God and IF you find a girl that sticks by your side, supporting you and your mission God has given you, then consider slapping a ring on her. Be content with it just being you and God. There’s no marriage in heaven. Love God, focus on Him and He will show you the right girl.

I don’t think it’s in your head at all. These are very serious red flags. This girl is holding keys out of your reach, with the promise you’ll get them if you slap a ring on her.

I can 100% feel the pain, frustration and anger that’s pouring out of your post. As another user pointed out, Satan is seriously tempting you and attacking you mentally. I’ve actually been going through something similar lately. I am attractive and could easily pound a ton of poon, but I freeze and can’t go through with it. When my clarity is regained I’m thankful that God has allowed me to not continue with my insatiable lust. My idol has been women and fantasizing about how I could absolute ra…

Awesome response! I’d like to add to your point about women preaching as good as men. It’s a horrible idea to make that argue (which you pointed out) because the issue isn’t about competency. It is not an issue as to who is better and who is worse. It is about what the Bible says about the matter. Women are not permitted to have authority over men. John Piper did a wonderful breakdown of it, which I’d highly suggest reading.
