I just want to point out that the conclusion is a good example of statistical discrimination. The data describes characteristics of two populations, but each individual’s financial planner is an individual person. It is totally plausible that a person could fire a male financial planner that is on the high end of the spectrum and hire a female financial planner that is on the low end of the spectrum. 1	Men pay tax more than women? If you were to reproduce this for the US, it would require a lot of assumptions that would make the end result questionable. Federal payroll taxes (Social Security and Medicare) would be easy to figure out by sex. Federal income taxes would be more problematic since many married couples file jointly. The horrible thing in the US is that we are fortunate to have the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) which guarantees 12 weeks of unpaid medical leave. 2	Literally thought this was The Onion for a split second. Can confirm. I grew up in Tucson, AZ without AC as a child. In the dry part of summer, we could get by just fine with a swamp cooler (sometimes called an evaporative cooler. It is more or less the same idea as a car radiator except for a house).
