So is it the case that dad left the mother to raise the child alone, then the mother reported that to the courts and they forced him to pay child support? Cause imo, the blame should be on the dude for leaving the mom to raise a child on her own. That’s a dick move to just abandon your child like that. Correct if I’m wrong that this is the case.

You’re acting like the father has to make no sacrifices at all in this scenario. It’s true that the mother has to go through 9 months of pregnancy and then to give birth, and I’ll never know what that experience is like. BUT it’s not as if men make 0 sacrifices. For a man, he might have to pay 18 years of child support for a child he never wanted. That’s A LOT of money and can quickly hinder a man’s life. Realistically, I’d rather abortion be banned and men not be allowed to abandon their family…

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t this a thing already? The high rate for single motherhood, especially for low-income families, is because men are abandoning the family? I could be wrong but this is what I’ve always heard. I always just assumed the dad can leave the pregnant woman by herself very early on and not face any repercussions.

Why should men pay up for their mistakes but women shouldn’t? Women should pay up for their mistakes too. They decided to have unprotected sex, knowing the risks, and got pregnant? They should have to carry it to term for a dumb decision such as that. I really doubt that 60% of couples with kids get divorced. If this is true, please share a source. And yes I do agree taking a risk such as this is worth it, risks are needed in life if you want to succeed. Going to college, applying for jobs, and buying a house are all necessary risks just as marriage is.
