Incidentally, apart for this very correctly noted current risk, there is something true at all times: statements "Women are X", "Men are Y" and the like involve statistical hyperbole. Maybe 90% are X. Maybe even less. How often do you see a galloping generalization that is 100% correct...or even 99%? --There are good reasons for hyperbole, to wit making a point starkly and succinctly. Just keep in mind that there are occasional exceptions.

Briefly, and for a start: have many accounts, including many email accounts, none with your real name/birthday/similar personal info, browse in incognito mode, if you do want to brag about trips/vacations at least do it after the fact, if you shop online instead of paying electronically use COD, and along with smartphones have a functioning dumbphone. Source: was ALMOST a victim of identity theft many years ago; luckily I caught it in time.

Good advice; indeed, I did not intermingle finances even when I DID get married. When we split up she had no claim on assets I had before marriage. I did buy a house while married, but she signed a quit-claim deed (she had bad credit; the bank would not approve a loan otherwise). So the divorce left me unscathed. Keep it in mind guys, no matter how promising a marriage/LTR looks be sure to protect yourselves against possible adverse future developments. A scorned woman is twice a shrew.

BTW, why obsess with 10s. My memorable ones were 8s or 7s. I've had 10s; they tended to be shaky and unbalanced, so maybe I'm biased. YMMV.
