I never give girls my belongings, even after I bring them back to mine from a bar/club and they gotta walk back to theirs when its a bit cold. Like i have female friends who straight up keep jackets/hoodies/shirts from ONSs. Also, does anyone have any advice on how to follow her up, I've just texting her back and forth (on snapchat, this keeps it quite casual/fun), now i don't see her as GF/relationship material but having a Friend with benefit or just a good friend would be nice. I guess its up to you, depending on how much you escalate will determine weather it was you two hanging out or you two being on a date. Make sure you take alcohol with you to more, ive noticed girls are a lot more flirty once they're tipsy. And the setting you described defo sounds like a date, just NEVER bring up the word "date" to her. It will come across as needy

I'm indian but I live in england and I know exactly what you mean when you say the girls are reserved. Even in england, girls are way more reserved than in the US. In India, I'd still go direct but focus a lot more on building comfort. Give the girl the space she needs to feel safe, don't escalate to quickly and just don't give off a creepy vibe.

From my experience, openers is the least of your worry. Just stop them and follow it with: "Hi excuse me, I just saw you walk by and I thought you..." Or if thats too cliche as you say then: "Hi excuse me, I know this is kinda random and we're in a street/mall/womans clothing shop/ but I just had to come and tell you that you..." The woman care more about how you say it than what you say. Openers dont need to be flashy, body language, posture, kino and eye contact is way more important.
