Some of this hit home with me bad. I wish we could be friends :( I think studying abroad will be a great way to push yourself out of your comfort zone but you really have to go out of your way to do it. As someone painfully shy and reserved, what's helped me is getting into some hobbies, some popular shows/movies/celebrities, and some trending/viral news stories JUST to have something to talk about. I seriously would be content never going on social media ever, but then I have NOTHING to talk ab…

Show me where I said men are bad. Show me where I said "bettering yourself" involves greed and shallow desires. Projection much.

If you want to hate yourself and be used by trashy men that's your prerogative. From my understanding this sub is about women bettering themselves in search of a good man or for the one they married already. It doesn't promote an egalitarian relationship because men and women are meant to complement each other, not because women are stupid and inferior.

"Well actually it's because you're hot" "Well actually men would f*#% anything" Love the goalpost changing lol. I definitely agree with you though, an "average" woman with a good personality is much more attractive than an "average" woman with a nasty one.

Predator for sure. It's textbook grooming. My question is, did you have a rough home life (poverty, divorced parents, abusive parent(s), living with other family, etc) and express this to him at any point in your relationship? He probably took advantage of that vulnerability. I'm sorry this happened to you :( I had a very similar experience in high school, but sometimes it's still hard to see it as it really was because when I was a teenager he really was my only "friend". Sending love ❤️

Omg if you're in Florida... but the odds of that are probably very slim 😅 But an online friend never hurts 🥹

I know adults are allowed to do whatever they want and I try not to come off as holier-than-thou, but I've had people become very defensive about it. I think if porn was a lot less accessible I honestly wouldn't care, but it's just considered a part of human nature nowadays and I find it kind of unnerving. The accessibility reminded of another point I forgot, waaaay too many kids can and do have access to it and I really, really hate that.

It is an addiction forming habit that has led many people to seek out more extreme videos that can be downright abusive or gross. Think about the classic "stepbro" or "stepmom" trope, it's really just a blurred line for incest and yet it is so popular. Or the "teen" trope and yet the women are dressed as though they are preteen... I don't even want to elaborate on that one. It's scary. It shows sex as a very one-sided act that favors the man. It removes the intimacy of the act and commodifies wo…

I think "liberal" is often conflated with being "leftist" which is probably why such backlash ensued. I think nowadays some people might even label you a centrist despite you yourself identifying as liberal because politics has become quite skewed. I grew up in a liberal household, when I was an angsty teenager I almost went full leftist, but then I got my head on straight, mellowed out, and now stick myself somewhere in the middle. I think that is pretty normal. My fiancé is very traditional, b…

How has Bible study been for you? I might start seriously looking for a Church to join instead of just thinking about.

Thank you for sharing! Maybe no bridal party altogether and a small location would be a better idea. Though I do still have to make more effort to put myself out there.

The only caveat is she is still a very new mother so my only worry is I don't want to come off as inconsiderate, but I am hoping that she would be interested

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
