The Life of an American Boy at 17 | A article that covers many of the issues boys face because they are male. The truth is that the people more interested in ideas don't care about your skin tone one way or the other and that is the majority opinion. So sorry to say it but by 'missing the memo' you are no longer a minority. Welcome to the majority party!?! | /r/MensRights | 13/02/19 05:50 PM
I am doing a Final Project on an issue concerning Men's Rights.Specific to 'double standards' would be the push to ban people tweeting 'learn to code' while at the same time ignoring people tweeting about locking high school students in their school and burning it down. This is in reference to the Covington school kids MAGA hats 'scandal' and reporters getting fired. It's a nice look at the treatment of 2 different groups by twitter and they occured at about the same time, within a few days of each other. | /r/MensRights | 13/02/19 05:21 PM
I am doing a Final Project on an issue concerning Men's Rights.Double standards on twitter are not just a men's rights issue. It is a men's rights issue, but it impacts a lot of other areas as well. If you want to know more about this topic I would suggest timcast on youtube. Not a twitter account, but one of the problems I see with an account calling attention to double standards on twitter is that twitter is going to ban it quickly. | /r/MensRights | 13/02/19 05:08 PM
Men can't understand harassment because they aren't allowed to consider when they are harassedSo what? I thought one of the reasons for this subreddit was for men to be able to express their feelings about certain topics. There isn't anything preventing us from having a dialog about harassment and letting the few men express their feelings about circumcision at the same time. I for one am happy with the dialog so far and don't think it is getting sidetracked by allowing someone to comment on something that is of concern for them. It isn't exactly a separate topic, but a part of a greater… | /r/MensRights | 13/02/19 05:04 PM
Need help on benchmark project. It sounds like VAWA is still a good law to reference if the angle of the paper is that there are gendered laws about domestic violence. Domestic Violence against men as a topic is characterized more accurately as being an ignored topic by lawmakers. If that is the project than what you really need is to show that domestic violence is legally considered to be male violence against women. It is the fact that the law doesn't consider female on male violence that is the project. The law that existed… | /r/MensRights | 13/02/19 04:57 PM
Camile Paglia on "why can't we hate men".For adults 'intrinsic value' is self determined and self given. How much do you value yourself. Men are taught to have low intrinsic value or in other words self esteem is never talked about in regards to men or boys. Societies system of valuation is a give and take between members. When feminists talk about women's self esteem they are not talking about what women bring to the table, they are talking about what they think women deserve from society for doing nothing. What is someone writing abo… | /r/MensRights | 13/02/19 04:39 PM

Men can't understand harassment because they aren't allowed to consider when they are harassedI imagine not sense it is a problem for a lot of men. Belittling someone else's feelings about having a body part cut off doesn't seem to be considerate of how some men feel about things. It's their bodies and if they need to express feelings about it let them express it. | /r/MensRights | 13/02/19 04:43 AM
Men can't understand harassment because they aren't allowed to consider when they are harassedThat example is even worse. Women are entitled to ignore the 'they let you' part both in his comment and in how they treat men. Thankfully the prime example of that is now facing sexual assault charges. | /r/MensRights | 13/02/19 04:33 AM

Men can't understand harassment because they aren't allowed to consider when they are harassedGood point. I didn't mean to imply it's subtle. Your last line sums up my point exactly though. We are all taught that females are the ones who are victims of harassment and even assault. We also don't recognize when other men are victims of the same or that it matters when they are. It doesn't matter how subtle or none subtle when we simply refuse to understand that men even can be harassed at all. | /r/MensRights | 12/02/19 03:20 PM
Men can't understand harassment because they aren't allowed to consider when they are harassedSome examples of "harassment do have a cumulative effect and sometimes letting things slide only lead to things getting worse. We have to learn to recognize things we would otherwise not be bothered by. Sometimes having a thick skin isn't good enough. Here is another way to look at it. Just because you have a thick skin and someone you are dealing with doesn't it shouldn't mean that you should allow something that really doesn't bother you. If you are dealing with a group of people who all are t… | /r/MensRights | 12/02/19 03:15 PM
Men can't understand harassment because they aren't allowed to consider when they are harassedI'm hoping that this thread will get more people thinking about this issue and how it manifests in their lives. A lot of men's issues I think stim from not understanding boundaries. | /r/MensRights | 12/02/19 05:39 AM
Men can't understand harassment because they aren't allowed to consider when they are harassedI for one don't think counseling is bad, however I wouldn't tolerate a counselor who wouldn't consider my point of view. If they want to tell me I'm wrong about something they need to explain why, not just assert it based on assumed authority. I tend to take control of my own counseling now a days, see above for why. thankfully I have a counselor that doesn't try to make me follow the female centric BS. I would recommend any man stop counseling immediately if they encounter that. I don't know ho… | /r/MensRights | 12/02/19 05:37 AM
Men can't understand harassment because they aren't allowed to consider when they are harassedMy point goes a step further in that men aren't allowed a sense of boundaries. I have been in a few situations were women alone have felt entitled to determine my boundaries. If a woman decides that something isn't sexual that she does to a man it magically becomes nonsexual. This goes all the way to crawling into a man's lap. It includes a woman's right to literally tell a man that it doesn't matter even when it is a form of sexual harassment. Men don't have a right to boundaries and the APA ju… | /r/MensRights | 12/02/19 05:16 AM
a feminist's assessment of r/MensRightsYou should never tie your self worth to anyone's approval. That concept is what feminism teaches to everyone, but especially women who tie their self worth to men's approval. It seems to me that your self esteem issue is not women's fault but your own for not believing in yourself. Yet the whole concept of being a good ally is tied up with the notion of men's worth to feminists. Why don't you demonstrate how to be a good 'ally' before you demand it of anyone else? | /r/MensRights | 12/02/19 03:02 AM
a feminist's assessment of r/MensRightsClean up the biased crud that feminism spouts before attacking men and boys who have been through family court, Domestic violence, false accusations. Every man should be terrified, not of women or feminism but of the biases that our government has entitled them with. I don't care if your afraid coming to a reddit on men's rights, when I have to be afraid of the cops being called on me just for offending YOU. If you aren't ready to DROP your biases don't blame others for holding that against you.… | /r/MensRights | 12/02/19 02:49 AM
