Also, even if that did happen, what is the bigger problem? How an obituary is written or the fact that a man actually died?! Amazing how she can take an issue like the fact that the vast majority of people killed in wars are men, and perceive it as sexism against women because of how an obituary is written.

I was responding to your argument that was stating that because fetuses brains aren’t fully developed, that justifies abortion. My point is that the brains of children are also not fully developed, so your argument doesn’t really follow. I actually wasn’t even positing an argument of my own about abortion, just pointing out that yours was wrong. Obviously there is a different level of development between a fetus and a teenager, but you are the one making the argument, so the burden is on you to …

I mean children's brains aren't "fully developed" either

People only bring this up when it is sexual assault. No other crime is treated like this. No one talks about how people being punished for falsely reporting any other crime would "discourage people from coming out." Why should this be treated any differently?

The term micro-aggression was invented and popularized in order to characterize offensive language as being akin to physical violence (hence the aggression part). This gives those who are offended the self-proclaimed right to meet the perceived aggression against them with actual aggression in the form of physical violence.

So what is your cutoff point for abortion and why did you choose that point? Some people would like to error on the side of caution. There's so many arbitrary points people try to set and say anything before this is a clump of meaningless cells but all of a sudden after this point it's a human. I just don't understand why people like you think you have some supreme moral say in when a human becomes a human and everyone who disagrees is stupid. Unless of course you support abortion up to 9 months…

She had a gun and was firing though, cops had to make sure she wouldn't be left in a position where she could still shoot.

You are admitting that when you are attacked by someone, you have a responsibility to respond with reasonable force based on who is attacking you. My opinion is that you don't act based on who the person is but rather how much of a threat they are. If a 16 year old is about to shoot me, I'm shooting first. Why is it relevant that they don't fully understand their actions. Neither do most adults. It has no bearing on how much of a danger they are to you. Or what about someone who is mentally ill …

I think it's because they have constantly been told they are victims both for being a minority and for being a woman. So the result is this crazy victim attitude where they think they deserve special treatment or something and lash out at everyone who doesn't agree with them.

Okay I can see the distinction there but then your logic saying that you should react with only your own self-defense and interests in mind no matter who is attacking you and use whatever means necessary to best stop the situation is wrong by your own admission. By saying there is a difference in the situation because of who is assaulting you (child vs adult woman), you're admitting that you SHOULD take into account the other person and act accordingly. You just defeated your own argument.

You didn't answer his question though. If a ten year old kid starts punching you in the face, are you morally right to sock him right back because your first obligation is to protect yourself and not consider anything else? Or do you have a moral responsibility to use a reasonable amount of force to stop the situation? I think it's a fair question given what you've been saying.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
