The level this reporter went to is kind of weird. He quotes messages by her friends on facebook. He goes into detail about her pictures, man I was even uncomfortable reading it. Absolutely what she did is terrible and wrong, but she's a minor and it's gross to stalk her and her friends online. They're kids! It's not really surprising to anyone that they are sexually active. I feel that if women or men are to be liberated in Afghanistan or anywhere, it should be by human rights groups or non profits with permission from the local government, and not by a government seeking to use human rights abuses as an excuse for occupation or invasion while simultaneously committing human rights abuses elsewhere. I can see how it would be an uncomfortable situation for the father. Still no one deserves to be castrated for anything. Ultimately I feel like if parents are uncomfortable with the age of consent in Germany, as in they feel like their children are not being protected, then maybe it is too low. Thanks for the correction. For the record I don't see men's right activism as detracting from women's rights issues at all; I would much rather argue on both sides until all things are equal as possible between the sexes.
