As for being replied to by a woman. I think I've reached the point where I just think of myself as a person. I make my own money. I own my own house. I co-parent my kids with their dad, pay child support, and have no resentments or quarrels with him. I have an interest in men's rights, because I have 2 sons. I have an interest in women's rights, because I have 2 daughters. I do IT to make money, but the human condition in all it's forms is my passion.

My parents are a study in odd, but so are me and my ex. My dad comes from very old pioneer mormon stock, but he also traveled a lot for work. But I don't accept that as the reason for his un-involvement. That came from a much more lazy and damaged place. My mom from very conservative southern baptist. Neither of them fit in with their background, but they don't necessarily fit together either. My dad is a recovering alcoholic of 40 years and my mother is a martyr in the truest sense. They're sti…

You know, I expected this to be a real woman hate sub, but I am actually really impressed. I think I am going to have my soon to be 15 year old son check this sub out. He has pretty hardcore feminist mom who double majored in poli sci and philosophy and a little sister who just has feminism in her bones (I dared to question mormonism because I couldn't bear to raise her in it), but I have noticed for a few years now that he often feel BAD whenever a discussion comes up related to misongyny. It's…

What I have found interesting is that the most over protective mothers I have encountered are not single moms which is what I would have assumed. I have certainly met some over protective single moms, but not to any larger degree than married moms. The dad's just seem to go along with whatever the mom wants. My ex didn't just go along with me when we were married and he doesn't now and although it can be aggravating at times I am very grateful. I'd much prefer an involved dad with opinions than …

NOT helicopter parenting can be really hard these days. You almost feel peer pressured into it. If you're not as helicopter as the friend your kid wants to have over for a play date they may not let them come over. It really is that bad with some of these parents and the younger the parent, not including teen parents, the worse they are. I had one very young mother want to meet me before she let her daughters have play dates with my daughter who was in 3rd grade. Okay, no big deal. I go over to …

I dunno. I've talked to many women and they don't all like the same thing nor do they necessarily only want the "one" thing they like the most. I was raised in a very traditional culture and we did not have sex until we were married. His idea of great sex and my idea were completely different. I had been having rape fantasies since I was 13, because sex was shameful and it allowed me to think about it without it being my fault. He had a much gentler fantasy, but still very traditional. His gentl…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
