It's true that a bunch of history is a retelling by whoever was victorious or prosperous at the time. But there's also hard evidence. People alive today have been alive long enough to confirm many things like Nazi Germany. And like, we recently found 751 unmarked graves of aboriginal Canadians at residential schools. I don't know how "hard" you expect evidence to be but if someone looks around and claims that oppression isn't a thing, they're just not well educated.

It's unfortunate you developed such a negative outlook on those fields of study, but if a student's conclusion is akin to "racism doesn't exist", then a teacher would absolutely be correct in docking marks for that. When those fields talk about history, they're talking about objective truths and not anything subjective like art.

Fair enough. I'm not a Tekken guy so I didn't know that and can't talk about how realistic it is. In general though, when I see something weird in fiction I automatically apply real world physics to it, as do you. If I see a fighting panda I'll assume that that one thing is possible and still have real world expectations for it (IF there was a fighting panda, how would it work?). How much I care, though, depends on how realistic the story or game tries to be.

I don't entirely agree. It probably depends on just how fictitious the world is and how reasonably we can expect some realism from it. Questioning why Sam from Game of Thrones is fat despite living in squalor, for example, is completely reasonable because Game of Thrones is a very realistic show despite being entirely fictional. The leopard head thing is the element of fiction they decided to incorporate. They still wanted some realism, so they didn't want to make it a world where women appear to be as physically dominant as men. Yeah, they could've went for more "characters for people to see themselves in" but the fact that they didn't is acceptable. That's not a reason to complain.

It doesn't have to be completely non-fiction to have some level of realism. Characters in Tekken are still human (bipedal, have human-like movements) so obviously they are going for some realism. Realistically, women don't fight on equal footing with men. It is completely fair for them to choose to incorporate that reality into their game.

It's cool to see, but I do think that the way a movie attempts to have a strong female lead can be done realistically. It would be nice to see a realistic action movie with a strong woman that struggles against men because she's weaker, and comes to understand that and work around it. Really depends on the genre.

In ping pong, the effect of this is very visible. Men can play effectively spaced far from the table, doing power shots that go far. Women are always very close to the table and focus on speed, as that's what they have in their arsenal. Although watching a speed-based game can be really cool. I love women's arsenals.

Body shaming someone at the literal place you go to improve your body is so incredibly backwards and even if that in itself is not illegal it is definitely what annoys me. I would at least somewhat understand body shaming someone into improving their body, but she did the opposite.
