Midsommar is one of my favorite movies. Such a headtrip. Hereditary is very different but also very much about women (though from a motherhood/daughtherhood perspective rather than as a growing young woman and a partner). If you're not into horror, I recommend starting with Ready or Not. It is definitely gory, but it's also so hysterically funny that it's a great ride. The female protagonist is taking NO SHIT. I love the movie and I always recommend to my friends who want a spooky thrill ride but don't like traditional horror movies.
