People do have the tendency to mistake them for wolves, if they're not the traditional brown/black short hair. Dog tax for my prettiest wolf.

This is why I love having big, black German Shepherds. No one approaches us. It's fantastic.

I'm sorry that was your experience. It's upsettingly common.

Sure. My issue is the amount of disgust you're expressing for a small amount of blood via menstruation, which women cannot control. You offered it as a comparison to a bunch of men peeing voluntarily and depravedly on a woman. They're not in the same ballpark of disgusting or shameful. But normalizing that kind of disgust about our bodily functions has consequences. I don't "expect" women around me to do anything. Vaginismus? Sexual trauma? On your period? Whatever, join in, girl. It's a non-iss…

For a lot of girls, the problem is sticking something inside their vagina, period. I don't think it's fair to push them on it. Bodily autonomy and all that. Some of them may have had prior sexual trauma. Some of them may not have the anatomy for it. Some of them may just have a mental hurdle surrounding their own body. And that should be okay. It's unfortunate that swimming is pretty much the only sport where you can't just wear a pad. But I don't think it's fair to demand girls stick something …

Uhhh... yeah... so, I hate this comment. A woman bleeding less than a teaspoon of blood into a pool is not the same as a bunch of grown dudes dumping their full bladders into a hot tub with disrespectful intentions. There is a huge difference between peeing, which is a voluntary act, and menstruating, which is not a voluntary act. I bristle when women perpetuate the idea that menstruation is gross. I was a swim coach for years. You would not believe the number of young girls who internalized the…

Yeah, I'm like this, too. I reflexively pull my phone away, despite the fact that, again, I'm not explicitly "hiding" anything. I'm definitely more protective over my personal phone than my work phones. Even if he gave you access to his phone at this point, would it really make you feel better? Let's say he is doing something sketchy. He could just scrub his phone before giving you access and be more stealthy about it in the future. IMO you have two options: Try to understand better why your par…

"If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to hide." This is really a poor argument. It mistakenly assumes that privacy is something only people hiding things or being sketchy should desire. The argument also suggests that people are worthy of suspicion until proven otherwise. Even if you have "nothing to hide," you may still have something to fear. I used to volunteer at a women's shelter, and IME control and abuse from partners is often built out of behaviors like phone monitoring, justifi…

Yep. The relationship I mentioned ending over this issue involved a man who freely gave me access to his phone because it "wasn't a big deal" and he "wanted to be open with me." I didn't care to look, and declined the offer. Shortly after, he became extremely suspicious of me because I didn't offer him access to my phone in return. It was never about being open with each other. It was about him wanting the opportunity to cope with his insecurities by being able to check my phone. He said, "I gav…

Would I want to see what's on my partner's phone if he were a fashion photographer? No. I've actually dated a photographer. No interest.

Did he ask for your passwords, or did you just give them to him without him asking? If it's the later, I think it's unfair (and a little manipulative) to expect that if you give your passwords freely, others will do the same in return. I can see from the other responses here, that my opinion on this will be unpopular... But IMO this isn't automatically a red flag. Just because you don't value privacy in your communications doesn't mean others cannot. I don't give my device passwords to partners.…

The day I got my IUD (Liletta) put in was kind of like this. Supposedly, the pain is generally worse for women who have never given birth. The day after I was fine. But the day of... yikes. Definitely glad my boyfriend was there to drive me home. Edit: Clarifying that it's harder on women who have "never given birth," not women who have "never been pregnant."

Depends on where you live, but the process of kicking someone out who has resided in an apartment/home — even if they aren't party to the lease — is usually the same as eviction proceedings for official tenants. I don't blame her for not wanting to deal with it, and just giving notice to cancel the lease altogether, instead. Less of a headache.

My guy buys delivery/takes me to a restaurant if he wants to eat when we're together. The few times breakfast has been cooked when we were spending time together, we cooked together.

I've had a similar experience. Now I *insist* on seeing a man's place early on. Tells you a lot about a person... how clean they may be, their tastes, approximate wealth, etc. Also, if they have a dog, how well behaved and trained it is — pets that aren't well cared for are a huge red flag to me.

The FDS community in this thread seems to be dismissing all BDSM practices as “kowtowing” to men in some way… and I agree, mostly. But I’d love to hear how findom, specifically, is kowtowing or pickmeisha behavior. I've been engaged in findom with a man (note: NOT partner, I would NEVER date a man like him — dating is reserved for HVM) for the last four months. We agreed to it on my written terms, which stipulate that I have access to his bank accounts and investments, as well as a credit card, …

Ugh... I really hate the concept of a "Ride of Die" woman. RoD just comes across to me as a more socially recognized term for pickmeisha. Really not something to be proud of, and I hate how it's a romanticized thing.

Just because he found some other chick doesn't mean that with her he's any less emotionally unavailable, avoidant or frustrating to be around.

I don't think a man who strings along a woman for ten years has good intentions. Not sure where you're getting that from. But I also think women shouldn't allow men to string them along. Maybe this is the "something" I'm missing, because I couldn't personally stomach being in a position where I rely on a man for financial security.

I’m not anti-marriage altogether, but personally have little interest in it. I honestly cannot grasp the kind of mentality that goes into desperately wanting to be married... especially to the point of pressuring another person. What exactly do people think getting married is going to change? At its core a marriage is just a business agreement — a legally binding contract. It doesn’t make your relationship more secure against failure or change. It doesn’t mean your man won’t cheat. It doesn’t me…
