1	Determining Interest I looked into IOI's above and found some pretty interesting stuff. I wrote a basic summary up above if you're interested. But ultimately the basic IOI is that a woman is standing there interacting and talking with you. She could easily walk away and talk to someone else. That line is particularly interesting to me. 1	Determining Interest Thanks for the reply. I just had a look through a few sites within the realm of the pickup community and got a sense of what was being talked about. In the academic world they are called "Implicit Interest Indicators". To my surprise, the academic world has a slightly different idea of what these things are. As far as online systems go now, they are relying on statistical indicators rather than behavioral cues which could be (and probably is) a main issue. This is interesting to me simply because most of the academic research that has been done leads us to believe that people are failing at dating (at least online) because of two things: They aren't able to tell how they are portraying themselves to a potential partner. They aren't able to tell how their partner is receiving them (in terms of impression formation).
