Why does this sub always have to bash on uninformed people? I could dig up some ridiculous sounding shit that MRAs have said. There are really stupid people on both sides of every issue. It doesn't strengthen your argument to point and laugh at them. On top of that, this video is getting into politics, which is just messy. I can believe that men and women should be treated equally while still thinking that building a "great wall" is fucking retarded.

Ok sure. On second thought, I'll give you that gender dysphoria is a mental disorder.... in the same way that depression or anxiety is a mental disorder. But, it is no where near the same level as schizophrenia like you said before. However, using the term "mental disorder" for all transgendered people is incorrect and will likely be changed in the upcoming DSM-V. http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/15532739.2010.509202 There was consensus that a transgender identity is not pathology. Gen…

You are absolutely ridiculous. If the information is so readily available, what's the harm in sending me a link to a peer reviewed study that shows that trans people are mentally ill and should (can?) be treated. Sorry, but I highly doubt you're a psychiatrist. You've spent more time writing condescending responses than it would have taken to just provide the information. https://www.quora.com/Is-being-transgender-considered-a-mental-illness The recommended treatment[4] for dysphoria is transiti…

Are you kidding me? At least I tried. You're just talking out of your bigoted ass. My mind is wide open. Show me this research and if I am incorrect I will happily admit it.

Ahhh gotcha, professor. Happen to have a link to the study you published on the subject?

What are you talking about? When did I use anecdotal evidence? I'm the only one here that actually provided any support for my claims.

Looking at your post history, it must be exhausting to be so pissed off all the time. Take a deep breath, relax, smoke a joint while watching the sun set. Jeez. When you're done with that, please look up the common fallacies people commit when arguing. Namely, "ad hominem" and "straw man".

Sure, but that's referring to the penetrating object not the person. It says that person A has a penis. That makes person A male.

Ok ya got me on semantics, but I don't think you understand what I'm saying....

It's not that their brains are different. On average, the brain of female-identifying biological male is measurably more female than the brain of a male-identifying biological male. my brain is different than yours is True. That's why we can't diagnose simply by a brain scan. We have to use statistics. But whatever. I'm done with this. I realize now that this sub is kind of a bigoted place. I'm all for treating men and women equally, but there's obviously a lot of hate here.

I keep bring up "the gay shit" because they are very similar. Both are identities that you are born with. People don't just wake up one day and become transsexual - they know from a very early age that there is something different about them. (There's always exceptions of course... Chelsea Manning might have faked it to get preferential treatment) Why do you think it's a mental disorder? There are biological factors that determine trans sexuality. In fact, the brains of trans sexual people are m…

All three result from biological factors - genetics, brain structure, etc. How are they not related? All I'm saying is the statement "being transsexual is a mental disorder" is just as offensive as "being gay is a mental disorder". Edit: In fact, homosexuality was classified in the DSM as a mental disorder until the 1970s.

The first DSM included homosexuality has a mental illness. Would you agree? There are biological and environmental factors for both homosexuality AND trans sexuality.

Wow are you seriously saying that being transgender is a mental disorder? Is being gay a mental disorder? How about having a foot fetish?

The law clearly states that A must have a penis. The defendant does not have a penis and therefore cannot be charged under the law. This is less about pussy pass and more about ambiguously worded laws.

Here's a link to the law. It clearly states that A must have a penis. That implies A is a male. Legally, the defendant is female and obviously does not have a penis. Therefore, (s)he's not guilty under the law. It's a stupid law, but that's not the judge's fault.

You're telling me that if you were 17 years old and your friends let you get to .26 BAC and THEN drive, you wouldn't be pissed at them? I agree that the boys probably shouldn't have been charged (the one who supplied the alcohol should), but they definitely had a moral obligation to stop their friend from driving.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
