Well said. There is always a balance.

Can see where you are coming from. I think a lot of times it is really the respect a man cultivates for himself that will matter the most.

Absolutely. And sometimes it's not even the respect from others, but respect for your own self that you will cultivate and that will eventually spill into all areas of your life.

Don't let it phase you. The only reason he continues is because he feels he can get a reaction out of you, that's what bullies thrive on. However, by "not letting it phase you" I dont mean avoiding or shying from him, stand your ground and keep doing what you are doing, maintain your frame. If he tries to get physical respond without hesitation. But most importantly don't get too hung up on the situation. Yeah it might suck at the moment, but trust me, highschool is such a short part of life, an…

Absolutely agreed. It's a lonely but worthwhile path, as long as one keeps walking.

100%. Women especially, will exploit any weakness a man shows and even ridicule him most of the time.

If there is one thing I am starting to learn myself lately, is that it is pretty much the only way, there is no other choice really. It can be terrifying at first, but I think ultimately knowing that it's all really "up to you" and you can decide on how your life will look like, if you choose so, is quite freeing. The universe tends to help those who try to help themselves.

Haven't read it, but sounds like it'd be an interesting read. Really resonate with that passage. It really made me realize, when it all is said and done, as a man all we have is our values, beliefs and attitude towards things. Nothing is given and everything can be taken away, hence a man must embrace and work on what really defines him, as that's all he has. And life is one massive sh*t test, if you pass, you win.

Couldn't agree more. The expectation is that you are supposed to pretty much be this superhero that feels nothing, but can do anything whenever asked. It's just that people forgot they exist only in movies.

Absolutely, such is a predicament of a man.

And stop thinking you are above being a human.

That could be something with how you view masturbation..if you look at it as a replacement for a partner rather than just taking care of the urges then that could be why.. Imagine if you had a gf and had sex every day? Would that mess up your dopamine and all? I think psychology plays a big role here too.

It's a fantasy, just like almost most things we all dream about. That being said, what's better to think about some chick you see in porn for 5 10 minutes, get it over with it and move on to more important things, or obsess about some other chick for the whole day and do shit all but focus on how to bed her? To each his own, ProFap allows me to see a bigger picture in a more clear way. It allows me to see that there are more more important things in life than just banging some chick. Every time …

Excessive porn* Again to each his own. For me it has something that allowed to tone down my high sex drive just enough to be able to focus and be extrmeley productive with more important things in my life. So guess my dopamine receptors are doing just fine. I think obsessing over how to fight these natural urges is a worse habit than just getting it over with and moving on with your day..

Truth is imo it's not always black and white. For some people ProFap in moderation and moving on with your day might be a better way rather than NoFap and constantly obssesing over fighting these urges..

See where you are coming from. However, you can have self-control and not engage in the activity, but you can't control your hormonal make up and how it will have an effect on your brain and subsequently mind. You can resist and control your urge to eat and drink water, but try doing that for prolonged periods of time and see how it starts to affect almost all aspects of your life. And frankly, why fight a natural healthy urge and waste energy thinking about it every day? Why not just get it ove…

Harsh truth. I think thats what most likely played the biggest part, is just her image of being the angelic carataker on a such a high profile, if he was a nobody, it would probably be a different case. Ironically, there was actually a scene where she flipped out saying how she is tired of all the burden he placed on everyone around him and her and even walked away at some point. It took him convincing her that he is willing to improve to get her back. So perhaps that too.

But that wouldn't change the fact that he still the "dad" would it?

That is also a good point. Perhaps there indeed was some behind the scenes cut off for the purpose of the perfect romance.

lol yeah that would probably be the worst case scenario, wouldn't be surprised.

But wouldn't it just make more sense for her to find someone who is more "capable" of making that future better? Or perhaps true love does exist.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
