I agree that this post really shouldn't be near the top of the front page, and you're right, it's probably only there because of the gender of the poster. But as it goes, it's an interesting story that serves to demonstrate well known advice in tangible terms. It's better than a lot of what is posted in this sub, although not amazing, and probably not front page worthy. For fucks sake, are you really that blind or are you here on a mission to divide and conquer the evil male space? You caught me…

Obviously the only reason the way she's being treated is bad is because she's a girl and therefore a delicate flower in need of protection. /s Could we just not mistreat people making solid contributions? Is that so hard?

And half the dudes here are being dicks to her for no particular reason. It's unfortunate, I understand the concept of the anger phase, but is it really so potent as to poison an objectively good post in their eyes just because it happened to come from the mouth of a woman?

Bringing up other women to a women you just met isn't dread game. It's a (usually) transparent and obvious attempt to demonstrate social value. Dread game is totally different and is usually used on women your are already involved with in some way or another. Please note: This is not an attack on dread game or a defense of it, I'm simply pointing out that the way you used this term is incorrect.

Okay, fair enough, the dude doesn't really have a way with words, I could see now how his meaning may have been confusing to some.

What he's getting at it that he was never in an exclusive relationship with any of his "plates", but he didn't talk about other women he was involved with with to them to avoid issues with jealousy, ect. I don't how you missed his meaning.

My advice would be to make your intentions clearer, if your interested in a girl you just met, make sure they know. This can be done through flirting, through body language, or even just telling them outright, your intentions should be as clear as possible as early as possible, don't make them do guesswork.

Within the context of this sub, bluepill means people who have knowledge of the redpill as an ideology/philosophy and are anti-redpill. Most of them are posters over at /r/thebluepill. This can be confusing for people who don't come here often I know, it's like this because in the context of this entire debate "bluepill" is what anti-trpers chose to call themselves. When you say "bluepill" over here most people assume you mean informed anti-redpillers, whereas over in /r/theredpill the meaning o…

Those are the words of someone who's heart is full of hatred and contempt, and utterly lacking in empathy. If you want I can compile you a lost of men's issues, but not right now, I'm on my phone, I can type it up later though. Even though I don't consider myself an MRA (egalitarian, I identify most with mrm issues wise, but I simply can't get behind the movement itself because of many of their actions), it saddens me that when someone says "civil rights" and "men" in the same sentence the first…

I never really understood what this spammer's goal or purpose is. It's definitely not ad money for this manhood101 website, the men's rights sub is way too niche for that to actually be viable. So what's his/her agenda?
/r/MensRights05/01/15 05:14 PM

Yeah, I know. I was wondering if there were any other studies out there that got similar numbers.
/r/MensRights04/01/15 02:18 AM

Okay, I just googled those, they seem to be heavily criticized (of course) but the methodology seems to be at the very least okay. However, I'm searching for studies to back up previously mentioned stats on gender distribution in cases of rape. False accusation statistics, while certainly important to men's right in general are not quite what I was looking for.

Just as a matter of curiosity, are there any sources for this other than the CDC study? I'm not saying that study isn't credible, but it's the only source I personally have ever heard of for this particular stat and it'd be nice to have another source (or sources) to corroborate it with.

You are definitely welcome in this community, as is almost anyone as long as they are willing to be courteous, be kind, and keep an open mind. The one issue that I take with your post is that you seem to be (as far as I can tell, and forgive me if I'm misinterpreting you here) in favor of strong enforcement of traditional gender roles. In my opinion (and in the opinion of the majority of this community as far as I can tell) traditional gender roles are not harmful in and of themselves, but their…

The "controversy" section of that article is laughably biased. The actual criticisms of the book are given a short a paragraph that isn't elaborated upon at all, while her response to the criticism takes up nearly the entire section. Edit: Strike that, the criticism itself isn't even mentioned in that section. Only her response and a short (in my opinion incomplete) paragraph on responses to her response.

By comparing average sentencing for certain crimes too each other by race/gender/ect.? It seems to me that when the poster said "court bias" it probably was just referring to sentencing disparity. That's just a matter of poor choice of words. However, there are some other claims here that I have a lot of trouble believing, so I'll have to look into it more later.

I see what you're trying to get at there. To call Elliot an MRA when he despised other men is idiotic, but it's not black or white, you're not either an MRA or a feminist, and his ideas most definitely go against the core beliefs of both. He was not an MRA and but he was not a feminist either, don't call him one.

And who are "our own potential allies" exactly?
/r/MensRights29/07/14 05:22 PM

Yeah, I get that, but again, it changes nothing in the argument. In both cases telling them to stop won't stop them, and that is the detail that matters in this analogy. The thing about analogies is that they can't be an argument in and of themselves, they can only be a method of better explaining an argument. In this case you're right, the analogy could have been better, and you can nitpick it's details, but that doesn't render the ultimate point false.
/r/MensRights28/07/14 06:51 PM

Yeah, so? The point still stands. In both scenarios telling people not to do it will help solve absolutely nothing, but putting preventative measures in place will.

Guilt by association. Hitler wears pants therefore if we wear pants too we are literally Hitler. He used a term that doesn't sound very nice and is similar to a term that the redpill uses, he's an MRA, therefore... all MRA's are redpillers?

I'm not allowed to criticize black people as a group either, and rightly so, but that is not evidence that they rule over us. Sorry, your post makes no sense. If you were to say that we're not allowed to criticize FEMINISTS you might have a better case, because feminism is an ideology not an inborn trait. But considering that this quote is by a neo-nazi, not Voltaire I feel like you should just drop it.

What "attitude"? How did I (or anyone else here) demonstrate this "attitude" of your's? It seems to me that your taking a negative stereotype attached to a word, and assuming that this stereotype applies to anyone and everyone who has ever used that word.

Yes it does, it's literally just the state of being in which someone you're sexually or romantically interested in is only interested in friendship. That's all it means, that's all it has ever meant. People who complain about being in the friendzone are dumb, because of their belief in the laughable idea that they are somehow entitled to a relationship. However, claiming that it doesn't exist is almost as dumb because it's a just a term that was created to describe a situation, to claim it doesn…

Elliott Rodger talked about how if he had the opportunity to kill every last man on the planet so he could have all the women to himself, he would. Nobody thought that he would do what he did, but basically everyone that encountered him thought that he seemed violent and not right in the head. OP on the other hand just seems like he has no idea what he's doing and has very little experience socially. He sort of reminds me of who I was as of a couple years ago, and I was not someone who would las…

The last part about fathers doesn't ring as true anymore Not to mention the part about holding property and moral authority, not to mention authority in general. The only part that's still kind of true is the the one about political leaders.

I don't agree with everything you said, but the part about leaving your comfort zone really hit the nail on the head for me. Throughout the year there were many cases where I was talking to an attractive girl and she was clearly into me (it was oftentimes so obvious that not even a 7 year old could miss it), but I refused to take the leap. I wouldn't take any sort risk, I wouldn't make a move, I wouldn't leave my comfort zone. As a result the farthest I've gotten this entire year is a single kis…

It's terrible advice, don't listen to it. The "add something on" thing isn't that bad of an idea, but if you use it don't make it sexual (this just plain dumb, and a great way to creep people out and/or get yourself fired), make it a jumping off point for non-business related conservation. For example: "you look like you could use some help with those azaleas, (whilst helping her) that's a cool tattoo, where did you get it?" Disclaimer: I'm new to this too, so take everything I say with a grain …

Seduction can't help you get one specific person, it can only help you be more attractive in general. If the first thing you ask is "how do I get with this one girl named X" you're coming at it with the wrong attitude. But to answer your question, you apply all the basic concepts taught on this sub (look at the sidebar) and either it works or it doesn't. If it does work, great! If it doesn't you need to move the fuck on, and focus on other women.

Even if you don't have abundance personally there still is an abundance out there. Even if you don't have an abundance of girls lined up for a crack at you, you still have an almost limitless supply that you can approach, so there's no reason to put a significant premature emotional investment in your outcome with one single girl. "Abundance mentality" is basically a slightly less eloquent and more analytical way of saying "There's plenty of fish in the sea".

While in my mind all his talk about analysis of literature was a just little bit pretentious, he didn't rub it in our faces in an "I'm better then you" sort of way, all he did was talk about his passion. He also outright admitted that he used to be a "know it all asshole" and he was trying to get over that. I feel like people are taking all their stereotypes and prejudices about people like him (English majors) and assuming they apply to him too.

I'm sorry if my wording was confusing the first time around. You can have a relationship that doesn't include sex (as in sexual intercourse), but you can't have a relationship without sexuality (as in mutual attraction and a sense of intimacy).
/r/seduction02/02/14 06:24 AM

All relationships are sexual, even if you don't have sex. In order for it to be a relationship there needs to be some sort of intimacy and sexuality. When there isn't it's called a friendship.

Part of this “make everything a joke” mentality is based on a deep-seeded misogyny No it's not, it's meant to encourage you to not take your interactions too seriously and not really care about the outcome. I agree with most of this post; including the part about how some things must be serious. But saying that the mentality of not taking things seriously is misogynistic is huuuuuuuuggee stretch.
