I'm not sure - I used to think it was best to let your SO handle it. This actually happened once when I was at a coffee shop. I was sitting down and the girl approached my former boyfriend and started flirting. I didn't really react, even when she walked over to the table with him. The conversation between them ended fairly quickly after that. He seemed upset about it afterwards, like I was supposed to start screaming at her or punch her in her face. I figured he had it handled. It didn't seem l…

Thanks! Yeah, number 4 might sound obvious but it took me a long time to put the concept together. edit for clarity: I realized that the person who was trying to alter their behavior was actually quite unsure of how they should adjust/were hesitant overall/looking to read off of my reaction. So when I reacted with disdain, it would completely shut them down - they'd wonder why they were bothering trying to do what I wanted in the first place. It has helped so much, in all relationships not just …

I haven't really been able to come up with a solution yet. I have found some communication devices work better than others. These things, in general, have made directed communication more successful: Talk about things in terms of your feelings. Say "I" and "me" way more than "you". Don't deny the other person's point of view/emotions, but don't deny your own either. Wait until you are calm to bring up a problem. Otherwise it is easy to start listing out ways the other person has failed, which wi…

This might be related to a cultural problem in which young women are discouraged from being "takers" sexually (i.e that isn't made out as "sexy" specifically to women) and haven't done enough self-exploration. I don't see the point of blaming anyone. It is an issue that needs to be addressed with better education and shifts in what is deemed normal/acceptable versus 'against human nature/wrong'.

Sorry, I picked up on a different conversation you were having and should have been clearer about what I was referring to (i.e OP's points).

Because the only thing that matters here is the difference in sex drives. The research relating to the averaged gender difference is thus important to the conversation. How distinct are they purely based on biology, how does this relate to age, if they vary depending on situation, etc. That would have some bearing on how "collaborative" men and women can be. If there are environmental pressures - like cultural influences - bearing on women's sex drive (affecting self-reports or biological functi…

What exactly does this have to do with men wanting more sex and women less? ...The study OP linked to is about gender difference in strength of sex drive. So I'll need you to clarify as to why you don't find what I wrote relevant to that. Sexual desire is typically higher in men than in women Ok, try reading through what I wrote one more time. I am not questioning that research thus far has demonstrated a higher sex drive in men and indicated that this may be due to biology. I am questioning the…

OP's primary study heavily relied on questionnaires. I reply to this down below, including a study demonstrating how women's answers to questions about sexual desire/sex life can change based on various conditions. I would like to see some quantitative evidence that is based on something other than self-reports about male v. female sex drive. People tend to bring up testosterone here, and if that is the case there needs to be a discussion about complex factors that actually lead to desire to hav…

Women less likely to orgasm from casual sex - news article summary Women have fewer orgasms and report more regret afterward. The regret part may have to do with cultural norms, but it may also be influenced by having sex they did not enjoy. In terms of the first study posted above, I notice that it is heavily based on questionnaires. So, it is clear, for instance, that women self-report masturbating less: now it is time to ask why. Do hormones always control emotions or do emotions control hormones? I am interested in the research.

The primary distinction being that certain chemicals are being released during the beginning stages of a relationship involving attraction. I'd wager that has something to do with the behavior of new couples and I doubt you would be capable of linking that chemical rush to insecurity. Insecurity exists, to varying degrees, in different types of new relationships, even friendships. You can prompt mate-guarding behavior. That does not = beginning stage of relationship.

TRP oversimplifies things and views this as a positive. That is what happens when you use cute catch phrases instead of detail. It is a religion. It is tumblr "extremist feminists" in reverse. That is also what happens when you view every news story, front page post, etc. with the lens of your religious dogma. It creates a sense of tribalism, and as such contains a bunch of guys who are drunk off of their attachment to the "group". They think that answering questions the "tough real way" means u…

The red pill certainly has never been known to use movies and television shows to illustrate a point.
