I know, I really need to. But I love him so much even though he’s bad news. I feel like it’s my karma for doing this to my husband sometimes although he had a million chances to change and I’ve changed everything my boyfriend wants me too. I definitely struggle a lot with trying to leave. Thanks for the advice :)

That’s my experience, was married 11 years and nagged my husband for change for a long time. He was cocky about it and done nothing. When I left he was hit like a tonne of bricks. Crying, not eating or sleeping, obsessively overthinking, calling helplines and begging me back etc. It frustrates me no end that he couldn’t have had those realisations when I was there. In my relationship now my boyfriend is so quick to dump me constantly. I break my heart and try to fix things and he remains unaffec…

That’s true of men too though. A man can sit on his ass and cheat. Plenty men do while women scramble to pick up the pieces and keep everything ticking over. I honestly can’t comprehend your thinking, it’s so black and white and paints women in ways I’m not even kind of comfortable with so I think I’ll leave it here as neither of us will change our minds here.

You know nobody is holding a gun to his head? Why are we acting like marriage is some inevitable cancer like burden put upon a man? I can’t get my head round him being totally at a woman’s mercy. If I tried to act unfairly my ex would have just gone to his lawyer. A judge will advocate split custody unless there’s a reason against it so he’s not at the mercy of a woman to decide his fate at all.

It’s not about the marriage, it’s about the commitment of children. Both of which he has decided to do so why are we acting like it’s some sad situation being forced on him? With or without kids divorce costs. If he’s choosing to have kids and his career is unaffected because his wife supports them then yes, that’s of great importance and is worth as much as the wage he brings in. If she didn’t his wage would go to childcare costs and we all know they’re not cheap. You rarely see a mans career s…

Why do you lose your kids and money? My ex husband and I share custody exactly 50/50 and nobody pays the other a penny. If you expect her to curb her career to allow you to maintain yours and limit yourself through working most of the time so that you can only have them weekends, that’s nobody’s fault, especially not hers. If she’s stayed at home to allow you the chance of maintaining your career hassle free, and you want that to continue after divorce then sure that should be something she is f…

Eh this is a very limited view to have. I’m financially independent and my OH moved into my home, wasn’t working when he did so (is now) has paid half the house payment and not much else. I pay mostly all the food shopping and we go half’s whenever we go out, on holiday etc. He’s never really paid for anything as I won’t let him. I love that man with every bone in my body and I say that as a mother. Please don’t speak for my entire gender.

I’ve never understood this argument. Men should/women should. What should the child get? You know, the only one who didn’t have a say in his/her conception. The dad is so adamant he doesn’t want tricked by us wicked women, wrap it up buttercup. You go in raw you know the risks and are just as much to blame for any accidents so man up and face the consequences.

Oh god no. I’ve had sex with men I wouldn’t ever have romantic feelings for. Sometimes the opportunity just presents itself when you want some action!

I would say the opposite. Pressure on women to look good has never been higher. Add to that the “window shopping” culture of online dating where relationships seem to have died off in favour of casual sex, it’s never been harder.

We got back in touch through Facebook when I came out of a marriage. I had been with him a few really casual times in my teens. He said he had always thought about me and told me details he remembered. He asked me out and we met at a nature park place the next day and went for a walk (that’s still all we do with our time), then went to a farm shop for coffee. Second date was out for drinks. We’ve been together a year now.

Explain how exactly?

It’s not about the woman. It’s about the child that still exists. He should be using as much birth control as possible if he’s that adamant but unless he’s been raped then he was part of the decision at the time of conception.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
