My Indian friend did surprisingly well in the US Midwest. That's entirely anecdotal. However, I'd give a look at what else could be improved before giving up. That friend is 6 foot and very funny. Definitely now in shape but super fashionable.

Dude. One of my friends gets shot down constantly but keeps going till he gets a yes. I saw him get shot down by every girl at an engagement party, a couple at the bar, and then he got a good looking ones number and made out with her that night. He isn't special. He's just immune to rejection and alcohol poisoning lol.

I killed it when in college, and I tend to do well when meeting people in person. Actually broke up with a girl recently. The apps generally don't work for me though. Anyway, I've done all the things people stereotypically tell you to do. I'm short, but I'm muscular, funny (to some people), well traveled, well read, do volunteer work, have plenty of friends and a very good job.
