Ex wife wants to meet up for a beer and talksAll I can say is, NO, NO, NO. You will regret it and it will set you back months. JUST DON'T DO IT!!! | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/08/23 03:47 AM
How do I vacation, alone?I will say I did not have a problem taking a vacation by myself but I still(3 years out) struggle with eating by myself. I always have this idea that people are staring at the 52 year man eating by himself and how sad that is. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/05/22 10:00 AM
How long does it take men to get over a divorce? It took me about a week to get over her leaving. It took me a couple of months to get used to doing all household stuff myself(she had been a stay at home mom for 23 years). After that the hardest part is all the reminders on social media. I was fortunate that all my kids are grown so there is no fighting for attention or favor. I really feel for those who have young kids and have to go through it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/08/21 08:55 PM
Permanent supportSo for the first 21 years she was a stay at home mom. I worked nights(10pm-10am). I still had to make my lunches. The last 5 years she went back to work(where she met the guy she cheated on me twice with) I did all cooking and all laundry. I would say it aas all worth it for sex except that we only had it around 7 or 8 times a year. For the last few years it was only 2 maybe 3 times a year. At the end we were more like roommates than anything else. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/07/21 06:44 PM
Permanent supportLooking at it that way I actually got off a little easier. I only paid about 700 a month and got 3 GREAT kids out of the deal. All of which I still have awesome relationships with. I am also much better financially now and my credit score went from 560 to almost 720 in just over a year. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/07/21 10:35 PM
Permanent supportAt first I was very pissed about it. Especially since at 50 years old I dont have a lot of time to build it back up. Now though I look at it as money well spent. I am so much more free and happy. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/07/21 06:19 PM
Permanent supportI am a year out after a 27 year marriage. I was so.ewhat fortunate that my ex had started working the last 4 years of the marriage so I did not have to pay any support. But my pension and 401k were divided 50/50 since she had neither where she worked. There was never anu mention by either of our lawyers about social security one way or the other. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/07/21 03:39 PM
This is my current state with finalized divorce. This is the way!To me it is well worth it. Every situation is different though. | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/05/21 01:00 AM

Post divorce sleeping arrangementsI don't move around a lot when I sleep but I do like the convenience of having stuff on the bed when I am doing computer work. It is a little weird having all that empty space when sleeping. I just have always had it in my head that as a single person you should have a twin size bed. Just one of the stigmas that I need to let go of I guess. | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/03/21 05:11 PM
Ugh!!! Seriously now you wanna fix it?!?I was unwilling to admit that the first time my ex cheated and even after the second time. It took 2 years after to finally realize there was no chance of changing. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/06/20 11:48 PM
Ugh!!! Seriously now you wanna fix it?!?For the most part, "once a cheater always a cheater" is usually true. I learned the hard way as well. Stay strong. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/06/20 06:01 PM
EnjoymentWhen she first leftI spent time trying to find positives and felt guilty that I was finding more positive than negative. When about the only negative you can come up with is having someone to come home to to discuss the day, you realize that you are better off. I love being on time now wherever I go. I love being much more financially stable. And it is very nice having a clean house all the time. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/06/20 05:55 PM
EnjoymentThis is soo true. We both would excercise but it was always easier for me to lose weight and just generally get into shape. She would always get soo mad when people would say something to me. Now I can just enjoy the compliments and I have found that I feel so much better about myself. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/06/20 05:49 PM
She cheated she wants divorceChasing-gainss your story is almost exactly like mine except I dont have the child support. We were married 21 years when she went back to work and found someone else. I got the house but she gets half my pension and 401k. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/05/20 11:35 PM
