I definitely agree with you, I just don't like calling confidence a masculine trait. I love and wholly endorse when women are assertive and confident too! But I feel you man. I was much the same. Bro holding eye contact with a girl isn't masculinity. It's just not being socially awkward. Lesbians can do it too, and women can do it to men. It depends on how OP handles it. He doesn't want to come on strong or needy, but he should be forthright. Using tactics is basically being a pick-up artist, and fuck anybody who uses pre-defined tactics on someone they already have a relationship with. Hiding yourself from someone who you're trying to see if you're compatible is just plain stupid, at absolute best.
