| 1 | Purpose through devoting oneself to a causeI did not understand the term. I am not at the point you describe and won’t be for decades. By my standards I am in a good place financially though. | /r/MGTOW2 | 26/01/20 07:17 PM |
| 1 | Purpose through devoting oneself to a causeWhen you are married and have kids you gain a specific responsibility (“purpose”). This temporarily fulfills you by occupying your time and mental energy. At some point though, I know this would not fulfill me. I did not mean to say that marriage/family=purpose and without it I am lost. The lack of fulfillment from relationships is why I choose to forego them. However, with marriage and children, you are invited into society in an automatic way through schools and family activities, and in this … | /r/MGTOW2 | 26/01/20 07:11 PM |
| 2 | Purpose through devoting oneself to a causeI agree that there is no innate purpose to life (biologically perhaps but we’re beyond that obviously). And there is no need to make one. That is the kind of deep meaning I seek. I was raised Christian and though I long ago dropped it, the teachings of duty ring true for me. I do have extended family in the area, I might contact them. Not sure if they’re worth knowing better but I might try. I like the idea of teaching classes (landscaping and household maintenance, basic computer/c… | /r/MGTOW2 | 26/01/20 11:18 AM |
| 1 | Purpose through devoting oneself to a causeYes, too often “causes” are misinformed attempts to meddle in and control others lives. I do not want to do that, I was thinking of helping those in my community who I know need it (kids access to health and education is poor. I grew up in similar town so can relate.) To your question it was not easy to get to this point but I finally am financially independent and starting to save and invest. I am not interested in any expensive status symbols we are taught to chase so long term I don’t know wh… | /r/MGTOW2 | 26/01/20 10:55 AM |
