My exwife did this to a point. Her income potential was equal to mine, and intentionally had her hours underpaid paid her employer (CFO helped to fix the books as he and her were friends). Sadly, I got stuck with all the debt and she gets away with it. It sucks, but narcissist women … damn. At the end when my therapist and I swapped from trying to fix me to save the marriage to “uh, let’s get your head straight to get out of this mess”… getting out alive was my only concern.

Sadly, it’s a valid tactic. Her lawyer is trying to squeeze you into giving her what she wants.

Seriously, you have to realize what works for you. Therapy helped me.

Um, I’m sorry to say this: lawyer up right the hell now. She’s got her friends and flying monkeys telling her what to do. I wish I could say it will be easy, but she’s about to show her true self. And that self is every red flag you ignored. That was me almost 3 years ago.

Depends on the perspective. Money wise? No. She’s getting greater than half of my paycheck while she was siphoning money from my ex father-in-law until and after he passed. She has a full time job making nearly as much as I do. She’s living the dream to the point of taking my mother out in expensive dinners. However, I’m happier because now because I don’t feel like a complete failure of a husband because I didn’t give her everything she wanted, when she wanted. I can say “no” now and not feel a…

Record that shit, send it to your lawyer. And for the love of god, do not respond to her gestures, just record and relay. She’s trying to get you to slip up so she can claim abuse. Do not let that happen.

3/4. My ex made sure to base valuations of assets at the time before a market recession.

Well first, take care of you. It is easy to go down the rabbit holes and reminisce on things. I’m not saying don’t do that but know that is the past. If she’s not taking care of herself that is not your responsibility to fix. Your child? Yes. Your ex? No.

I know I’m only repeating what everyone else is saying, but if your shields are raised, that means something deep down for you. Listen to it. That little piece of you wanting it to work? Stop it. It’s not healthy.

Brother, you will get through this. You will be okay, and truly… better.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
