He sounds very selfish, it's completely rational that you don't want him to go, if he thought about you at all he'd never even think about going in the first place. I don't think you can guarantee that the man will be high value, there are men that become abusive after marriage after years of dating beforehand. It's fine if you like it, but to me it would be incredibly strange to commit to something as serious as marriage without spending that much time together before going ahead with it. I'm a Christian and divorce is a pretty significant, in my country a lot of churches won't let you remarry unless specific circumstances are met.

I think this is because women are socialised to be wives and mothers from a very young age. The pressure is especially high in religious cultures. Not really about relationships, but I see this on every twox post that discusses creepy behaviour from men, they all come out of the woodwork to say it wasn't the guys intention to be creepy. The fact is, it doesn't matter one bit if the guy wasn't intending to be creepy, because either way he made women uncomfortable, and he needs to learn proper boundaries and respect. I guess there could be a deep reason for it, like how a man who is bigger probably has better genetics/ability to find food to grow that large.
