Go see the romantic movies. They get a lot of things wrong, but they do get the 'date-night' right. There is always momentum to the night - dinner, walk, ice-skating rink, merry-go-rounds, horse-carriages, fireworks etc. etc. This builds familiarity for the girl making one date look like many.

Initially, I will not tell the other girls about her, but tell the one I am looking to become exclusive with about them. This may not be the best advice, but it has worked for me in the past. The girl realized what I was giving up for her, and that I wasn't short on options. Plus, the other girls do tend to get an idea. When they ask - mention that you are developing feelings for this one girl, and you yourself are surprised at that. Girls are emotional beings. They will understand and appreciat…

The best thing you can do is not ask her at all. Hiding the truth is easier than lying. By asking her, you are giving her two choices - say the truth or lie. In such situations, guilt becomes a factor and a lot of girls end up saying the truth. Saying it aloud that she has a bf also reinforces that you are a bad idea. Instead don't ask. Let her tell you if she has to tell you.

Exactly. There could be a number of logistics linked reasons to her saying no. The fact that you were able to escalate enough to make out and have her follow you till your doorstep should serve as validation, rather than disappointment. It's a numbers game - more girls you bring to your doorstep, more the chances some will come in.

There's a difference between being insecure and being embarrassed. I'm not insecure about my legs when I meet someone with a handicap I feel a little guilty and try to make the challenged person comfortable. That's probably what that girl must have felt. Been there :)

Happened before: Keep your hand on the girl's lower back, stand with her so that's it you two talking to him. If he starts to flirt, or is flirting from the word go - ask him, "are you here to pick her up? Are you like a pick up artist or something. This is fun. Why don't you tell us some of the best pick up lines you have" Let him perform for you. Auto-alpha

Ask yourself everytime you have to take a decision - what's the more difficult thing - and do it. Do it 10 times tomorrow. Think of decisions you take everyday. Water or coke? Walk or cab/car? Approach or be shy? To start, have one day each week - and decide to take the more difficult option. For every decision. You will be steel before you know it.

It's crazy in Brazil. The American way doesn't work very well. Girls flake 95% of the time. As a local - do you have any suggestions?

In such cases, I'm surprised people suggest staying away. What do you have to lose? You've already lost her in your head. Trying may yield a positive or negative. Not trying is negative any ways. Don't apologize straight away. Try to explain without being sorry about it.

Don't worry. It isn't a character flaw. You were a few beers down, had blue balls and the girl was a 9. Although not justified, it is explainable - hence the other guys had your back. Since you've realised that this is AFC behavior, it will enable you to learn from this and handle such situations better going forward. That said, I still believe you have a chance to hook up again with this girl. Give it a shot.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
