That is such a huge generalization that it is actually bad advice. It is the same with everyone you talk to, whether that be AI, friends, therapists, your STBXW: Use your critical thinking skills to determine "Does this person/thing have a motive that might lead to it being overly sycophantic/contemptuous and how might that affect how I should react to their words?" Put more simply: AI is trained -- just like many of your friends and many therapists -- to validate your thoughts and feelings. Tha…

You want people to read it but you didn't provide a link to it here?

Then you could benefit from some gay friends. And I don't mean friends that you hook up with. But a good friend will listen and help you feel grounded regardless of how much you have in common with them.

I want to tell him to run away while.he still can! Man you need to give up on her immediately and accept that you no longer have the ability to have an impact in her life. Trying to voice your opinion (even if completely valid) will be looked at as "control." Stop letting her into your house. Stop talking to her about anything other than logistics. Stop texting her. Remember: BIFF.

I guess ask about the relationship history if you think you will get the truth. This is huge. If you get "I..." then you have met someone who is healed / working on healing. If you get "He...", then enjoy the date and then look elsewhere. would you rather date/attract people that has been divorced or bachelorettes that have never been married and have not gone through the terrible experience that is divorce? Everyone who is 30+ has baggage. Even if they've never been married, there is a reason. …

Here's what I've found: find women who want to talk about their brokenness. They have a good job, healthy routines, but openly admit that they were "alone" in their last relationship or "anxious" about him cheating or whatever. The only way to build a real relationship is with communication. If they aren't upfront about it, then they aren't yet healed. Everyone over the age of 30 has baggage. If they don't want to admit it or talk about it right away, then it's going to come out in other ways an…

Finding friends through your hobbies is good advice, but there are better methods. Right now you really need people to connect with on an emotional level - people going through the same shit that you are. Honestly, lots of guys don't want to talk about stuff like that. It doesn't even need to be in person. People to talk to are going to help you the most. And not the type that talks shit about your wife - the type that wants to help you succeed in moving on without her. If you want to vent or if…

Haha I love that you are basically an AI chatbot in this subreddit. I don't even mean that condescendingly. Too many people don't realize that great therapy can be found for free.

Finding community is probably the most healthy way to find yourself. And while it's implied by OP's willingness to reach out, it should be explicitly mentioned. This sub, therapy, and even AI chatbots (like where OP got this text from) are all healthy outlets. Your typical friend group, family, and even in-person divorced men meetups can all be hit-or-miss and might even be unhealthy, as often the loudest voices will only want feed the fire of anger rather than focus on your emotional healing. I…

I do enough talking with AI to know with 100% certainty that you copied this directly from an AI response. That said, AI has been very helpful for me. I have long conversations about our marriage with Gemini / GPT. It is almost always helpful. If you complain about her / the legal process / custody battles, the AI is quick to redirect you back to your emotional needs and what you really need to be focusing on to heal. I recommend using AI as an outlet to everyone here. It can even be better than…

You are not old. Don't let yourself think that. The second you try to pressure yourself into getting into an LTR because you "don't want to wait until you're too old" is the second you're making a mistake. And 10 years is completely unnecessary. But being willing to wait 10 years to find a person you know you want to commit to is absolutely necessary.

Yeah, two of our kids require 1-on-1 attention for about an hour each night (CBT and DBT). Then there are activities, the actual therapy sessions, and unplanned mental health needs. Both parents need all hands on deck at all times, and its been like that for the past few years. She ultimately finally agreed that there are no "days off" and has agreed to just let me have 3 kids most of the time and then she handles weekend activities.

Lol. Keep judging however you want. She's actually applied for a job and is saying that she will be paying me for a home assistant for her 7am-5pm custody. So the final agreement will result in her: hanging out with one kid from 5pm-7am every day, 5 days a week having all kids from 5pm-10pm one day per week taking a kid or two to activities on the weekend me taking all the rest of the time And this is much closer to what I was asking for than what she was asking for. That shows you how far off y…

50/50 most of the time and then three nights with all 4 kids is way more than 50/50 lol. We worked it out though. I get three kids five nights a week and four kids over the weekend but she is responsible for taking the kids to their scheduled individual sporting events, campout, etc on the weekends. I get most of the time with the kids and don't have a partner who abandons them, which is all I wanted. She wanted "nights off" and I wanted the kids to always have the support they needed.

She gets like 3 hours in the middle of every single day without any responsibility. If anyone needs a break is me, But I realize that excessive brakes are irresponsible when it comes to caring for our children.

Right, that's what I'm saying. She wants to dump all the kids and all their needs on me 3 nights a week so she can escape. Get a sitter.

I don't mind having two every night. One vs two is not the issue. One-on-one is MUCH more quality time, and is consistent with how we've always parented (as much one-on-one time as possible). My issue is that she is asking for me to take all 4 kids 3 nights per week and her take all 4 kids one night. Four nights per week where one parent is "off-duty" is insane, and would result in so much time where the kids are left unsupervised.

Why do so many divorces rely on the "system?" I am only a month into separation, but we are trying to work everything out in person and through mediation before talking to a lawyer, and 50/50 has always been the plan. I ask, because I am worried that our amicable split could get ugly based on what I read here.
