I hear you, and agree; however, I think there's a difference in the mindset of, say, a 30-year-old woman who you might be targeting, and a 22-year-old that many here would be targeting. I'm near your age, and the occasional experience I've had with younguns indicates they don't care as much about having a platonic excuse. Once I was with a 23-year-old for whom I'd done the full song-and-dance (dinner, movie, etc.). As our clothes were coming off, I blurted something along the lines of "man, I've…

I disagree. Considering the result, the OP should say to Nate something like "thanks for saving me from Molly, dude! That Amy was awesome in bed!" ... and then avoid Nate in the future. This way, if Nate indeed was being a jackass, he'll realize that his jackassery bit him in the ass, and it's good payback.

Good advice. I'd like to add: after you look down "demurely" for a second or two, look back up at him and catch his eye for a second, and then play with the hair. This is a sure fire way to tell a guy that you'd like to be approached. If that doesn't bring him running, nothing will.

I hear you... but I think being in a new town, it's easier because you have a rock-solid excuse: you're from out of town. One can use that in a conversation pretty easily. I've been living here for 6 years. I just feel (and it is wrong, I'll admit it) that if I go solo repeatedly, people will say "there's the creep that just sits by himself every time" or something like that. Yeah, it's a mental blocker; I need some mental tricks to get over it. :-(

"If you're reacting like a little bitch when she orders you to sit at the TV, you definitely aren't laying her or anyone of that caliber (think on this, closing game must be TIGHT). " What are some appropriate responses to this situation? Woman puts up a resistance and pulls a move like this one?

Just reach over, touch her at the outside of the upper arm (i.e., no chance of touching the boobies) and thank her, while maintaining eye contact. And thank her in a slow, deliberate (and deep) voice. Give it a shot. What do you have to lose?

"If he genuinely likes me, he should like me as a person and want to continue our friendship." I disagree. I really like this girl, but she friendzoned me. It hurts me (almost literal, physical pain) to be with her and not be able to hold hands, touch her, squeeze her and, of course, make love to her. So I told her I can't be friends. She was upset, but I stuck to my guns. A month later, she reached out and wanted to checkout the exhibit at the DeYoung (museum in SF). It was great; but I told he…

IMHO, 2 months isn't much of a relationship. Only she knows what those 2 months mean to her. I know of women who are "sorta" dating some dude while on the lookout for something better. This way, if they want to reject someone, they'll pull out the old BF. She made a choice. Let's respect her choice and let her deal with it.

First: congratulations! High five!! Now, remember: it only gets better! You will (on average) do a better job as you get more experienced! Things can only get better from here. Yay!

I'd put it down to buyer's remorse. I can see where you're coming from (I'm also a techie, with a hyperrational mind). But women are more "irrational" (and I don't mean that in a negative way) when it comes to these things. Maybe when they met you their emotions got the better of them; but now, cooler heads have prevailed and they don't think it's worth the effort to go further. Anecdote: I met this hot girl (HB8?) at a social event. Great body, great hair, smart. We talked, and she commented th…

The thing that bugs me is when I do something nice without any intention of being noticed (i.e., I would do the exact same thing even if no one ever saw me do it, and no one even heard about me doing it), people still say: oh, you just did that to impress us, didn't you? It irritates me to hear this.

" if they turn their back towards you and come closer it's a welcoming motion!" This is something I've been grappling with. I'm at a club, and a woman makes a little eye contact, then slowly comes over closer and starts dancing in front of me (with their back towards me). Now what do I do? Move closer and put my hands on her? If so, where? Shoulders? Waist? How close do I move?

Exactly. I've had something similar happen; and by ditching her, I gained her respect and she dumped the other guy. Women expect men to have a backbone. By hanging around for sloppy seconds, OP is lowering his value. F' that shit. Tell her you're not interested in being a friend; you want to be her lover. And then walk away (after making sure she has your contact info), and with a parting message like "let me know when you have figured things out". Then date other women.

Shit! I hope I'm not too late here. I asked this question on another subreddit, but I think it belongs here. I'm a tall, decent looking guy. Sometimes, when I'm in the club dancing by myself, I'll see a woman slowly dance over so that she's directly in front of me, facing away (with her ass towards me, which makes me hornier, but I digress). She'll be about 1 - 2 feet max away. There will even be some eye contact (she'll turn around and smile for a second). This is when I don't know what to do. …
