You're closer to God when you are in nature or performing kind acts. The problem with socializing is it requires other people. Lifting weights is fine but there's an opposition between "square" energy (sobriety, weight lifting, helping the elderly, etc.) and "cool" energy (getting wasted, doing fun shit, never thinking about the fucking elderly) and to have a social life you have to be cool.

I found god 5 1/2 years ago when I joined Alcoholics Anonymous. This might have predated Roosh's Augustine moment but I'm not sure. Don't know. I get a lot of matches on Hinge but they're typically normal career women and I'm not motivated to ask them out.
