Most of the posts are, totally, that's why I've subscribed, but the fact that everyone takes this so seriously and gets all defensive supports my suspicians about a lot of the other subscribers

Looks like a huge overreaction to me, unless that was acid she was trying to pour on someone

I’m not offended, just surprised at the level of hate there is on this sub towards women who don’t live their lives according to conservative values

Hilarious. Call her whatever you want. I just find it distasteful to use inflammatory language just because you want her to be a worse person than she actually is.

I didn't see anywhere that she was going to start looking for payment or any other sort of compensation for sex. Definition of whore 1 : a woman who engages in sexual acts for money : PROSTITUTE 2 : a male who engages in sexual acts for money 3 : a venal or unscrupulous person The only thing you could possibly argue is that she was being "unscrupulous" which I would not agree with because she asked for her boyfriend's permission before all of this.

That's ok, my ego can handle it, I still think it's important to express how you feel regardless of others validating you or not

That’s exactly what I’m talking about too. Now I feel bad about my earlier response to your comment, I was just in defense mode cause everyone was downvoting me and shit. Gonna have to check myself a little more next time

You’re speaking my language now, bud. The original post is awesome, it’s just some of the comments that make me question my membership in this sub

I think we can agree on all of that. My problem with what some of the people in this thread have said is that some people are accusing the girl of doing something akin to cheating when she received approval from her partner to pursue sexual encounters with other men. She didn’t do anything wrong in that respect IMO, but when she realized that she couldn’t actually handle being in an open relationship her screw-up turns out to be that she didn’t actually think it was a two-way street, which it ab…

My apologies, you’re right I did make an assumption, I stand corrected. But I disagree with you trying to present your opinion as facts

All I hear is insecurity. Yeah it’s easier for girls to get sex than guys because most guys want sex more than girls. Does that mean that we should punish girls that feel more similar to men in their sexual proclivities? And take a look at the couples you know; how many bombshell women do you see with derpy guys? How about the opposite? I would argue that “homely” girls have a much harder time finding romance or otherwise than awkward men. It’s all about your perspective, but stop feeling sorry …

That doesn't seem like the same issue to me... won't hypergamy exist whether people are in an open relationship or not? Seems like women might even "lower their standards" a bit if they don't have to be tied the same person 24/7

She was making a suggestion for a change, and it was his choice to accept or not. You can't have a disagreement on something before you even talk about it. For all she knew he could have been all in and happy with the open relationship situation. If she "just ended it" then he wouldn't even know why she was breaking up with him. If you are talking about after she realized she screwed up then yeah, maybe she should break up with him, but he didn't do anything wrong at that point and that would be…

If you are being put in a place where you have to choose between being a slave and leaving you should choose to leave if that is what's important to you. It's her choice to give him a shitty decision to make but it's his choice to take it. As they say, it takes two people to make an abusive relationship. Just dump her if it's a deal breaker, otherwise you willingly accepted whatever she gave you

Dude could have said no, but he didn't. It would have been a very different story if he did. He also could have broken up with her. Instead he went along with what she wanted and look! It totally worked out for him, which is awesome and hilarious. Can we at least agree on that? This wasn't a snap decision, because they agreed to terms beforehand, dude needs to stand up for himself if things are happening that he doesn't like. He is an equal member in the relationship and if an agreement of open/…

...and so, they should be treated differently? Since men are different from women, maybe we should come up with a term for when we treat women differently - hmmm... I know! Let's call it a r/pussiepass! And then when we refuse to treat them differently we can call it r/pussiepassdenied Edit: look, I’m not saying that men and women are not different. I am saying that this subreddit is one of the most inappropriate places to use language that promotes or highlights differences. If we are going to …

This turned into something much bigger than I intended. I really have no issues with anything you said except I feel like the word "whore" does not promote gender equality, as this subreddit claims to be for; rather, it is a word used to ATTACK women who are perceived as promiscuous. I would go so far as to say that I am being a little nitpicky, this was not meant as a personal attack or to imply that the girl was not being dumb.

the concept of an open relationship was invented by women and almost elusively benefits women right? How does that work? Unless you got a bunch of girls with lesbian tendencies on the side don't they need to have another guy to do the deed with? Doesn't this keep things "even" due to, uh, physics or symmetry or something? Or are you saying that it's just one dude that's hogging up all the cheating girlfriends? In that case, I guess it's still even but you just don't feel like you can measure up …

Hey I can totally respect that. For some people, monogamy is the only way to go, and it is the socially acceptable relationship. However, terms of a relationship have to be agreed upon by both parties. Some couples decided to have an open relationship/marriage. It can be super complicated and often doesn't work out, but sometimes it does. The important part is that everyone agreed to the terms beforehand; the guy said he felt like he couldn't say no, but he COULD have and then it would have been…

never heard that one before, and I said generally, not exclusively. Please don't try to make the claim that promiscuous women are treated with the same level of scorn as promiscuous men. Men will often try to pump up their "score" while women will do the opposite. Haven't you seen American Pie 2? Yeah, I know I'm dating myself

...And just because you mentioned it, yeah my wife and I did try to do the open relationship thing, I had no problem, she couldn't handle it. You don't know me; and it's not cheating when you agree to be in an open relationship, that was kind of a big piece of the original post.

While I agree that it is way easier for girls to hook up I take issue with you acting as though their "looks" take no effort. I appreciate many of the posts on here, some of them maybe a little too much, but when people start attacking women for ways they are DIFFERENT from men and should be treated DIFFERENTLY, that's when I say they should move on to another thread. EDIT: forgot a word

I like to think this subreddit is about equality between men and women and not about a bunch of dickheads looking to shit on women (I know I'm probably kidding myself), but I find the word "whore" to be very contrary to that hope. There's no negative male synonym as men who play the field are generally not looked down upon. Personally I feel like it's not an appropriate word for this subreddit.

It really all depends, so I can't agree or disagree. Would you pay for a meal with a guy that you enjoy spending time with? I can't really see much of a difference between a platonic relationship with a girl vs hanging out with your bro. That's where the pussy pass comes in. Chivalry is kind of the definition of the pussy pass.
