And oddly enough that's why I often sit in my car at the beach or park, as it's my safe space. On this occasion I just happened to walk out on the pier. Of course sitting in a car with a zoom lens taking photos would actually be even more dodgy. I often have to take time out between work and home in my car as the pressure of life is relentless, and there seem to be less and less places where your can do this without suspicion also.

They saw me as a dodgy mutha fucka. I saw myself as a man trying to enjoy simple things in life. If I actually wanted pictures of young girls in swimsuits there's this thing called the internet...! We've already had teachers charged and dismissed in this district this year for child sexual abuse, and of course cases within families, so the problems lie much closer to home.

Absolutely. I have had to pull myself back from situation where no one was stepping forward for fear of this. But would never back down if a woman or child were being harassed.

Exactly, I mean anyone can actually film anyone in public (that's the whole basis of the paparazzi industry). Doesn't make it pleasant or something that you should do, and taking random photos of a beach/seaside landscape shouldn't automatically make you a paedophile until proven otherwise.

That's the thing, I had to think on my feet to try to get out of the situation. I don't like sharing my phone with anyone, even my wife, let alone a stranger, but thankfully having nothing to hide it was the course of best action. And no don't have to show cops anything here either but they can make it mighty uncomfortable if you don't comply.

Yeah at they point they were about to physically restrain me, and 3 on 1 I had no way of getting out of there so decided to use brains rather than minimal brawn.

Exactly, this shit has been happening for years, while I'm happy that hopefully more real offenders are being brought to justice, the media just play into the hands of clickbait consumers. The Australian Cricket Captain just stood down 4 years after having a sexual banter conversation with an employee - the media reported all of his sexually charged comments, but none of hers! And she's now claiming sexual harrassment even though she said 'I'll think naughty thoughts about you..."
