The history of why black people make up such large swathes of low income neighborhoods and the culture that followed could make up an entire semester in a history class. I think poor people make up a disproportionate amount of inmates. And black people make up a disproportionate amount of poor people. It would be reckless to make any blanket statement like "there are more blacks in jail because blacks are bad" or "there's only more blacks in jail because racism". Couple things: 1) while men commit more suicides, women attempt more suicides 2) inmates are assumed to be guilty. So it's a weird way of saying "most criminals are men" 3) yes 80% of murder victims are men and 95% of murderers are also men 4) women aren't allowed in active combat so that isn't fair. I compared an issue i deal with regularly in my life. I think men needing to feel constantly masculine is one of the worst things about being a man.
