I have been divorced over 13 years and have moved on to live a happy life. What am I still doing here?I appreciate the fact that you’re still on here giving back to so many others who come on here seeking advice. Men need the support that this place can give. A place to vent, let it out and organize with common internet strangers before going back to their world. | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/07/23 05:14 PM
What did you do with your old wedding band?I had a tungsten ring and I threw it on the trash. She asked about it wanting to sell it. I was so mad after her cheating, I didn’t want to give her the satisfaction. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/01/23 05:39 AM
Getting marriedLike many on here I agree with their views. My biggest issue is that she pressured you into marriage. As someone who was pressured, while I eventually got into the marriage I always felt off. Now being divorced I know now that I was not ready. You need to evaluate yourself with her clearly. Is someone who pressures you into things she wants someone you want to share your life with? Love blinds us all to some truths that we may not see. Look at things and asses them clearly. It can save you years… | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/12/22 10:42 PM
Healthy Healing: Realizations post-separation without regretSelf-assessment is probably the hardest thing to do at the beginning. In my case, because of her affair, it was easy to paint her the villain. I had to realize that her affair was HER decision, but the marriage failure was on BOTH of us. Taking accountability for my actions was incredibly hard, but was instrumental in my healing and recovery. I still have so much to grow, but I can take solace that she no longer lives rent-free in my mind. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/03/22 01:42 AM
What do you wish you had done differentlyNot trying to repeat what everyone is saying here but I would think about you first. Yes If you have kids they are a priority and very important, but as men, we need to think of ourselves, our purpose, and our goals. Speaking for myself I was absorbed in my marriage to the point I didn't matter. Instead of getting prepared for divorce, I decided to "fight for the marriage", the worst decision. Break that train of thought, think about what you want to be after this. Think about your identity with… | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/10/21 02:27 PM

Divorce saved my life.I completely agree with this sentiment. The biggest lesson I learned was to value myself. Taking care of me means, watching what I eat, working out, getting regular checkups, finding value in being alone, building relationships, and finally learning what true peace is like. I would've never found any of it in that marriage. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/09/21 02:12 PM
If your wife is having an affair......Well said sir. When I found out about the affair it was devastating, on top of how she monkey branched onto her new life, I felt like all I was doing was reacting. Then it came to me what to do, played possum while she was riding high i didn't fight. Negotiated my way out of it quickly and with the divorce it's over. In the end she did me a favor by leaving me cause now I know how important I am, I'll never forget it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/09/21 01:02 AM
