Yep but like the other guy said, he probably invested a lumpsum when the market was high. Otherwise even with annual investments, you'd get more than 3.75%. The days of bull run are going to be over soon though. :(

I would actually disagree with you about getting bonds. Even a small 10% of your total portfolio. unless you are getting somewhat close to retirement the returns just aren't there. The point of bonds is to protect your original capital when the market tanks suddenly during random years. You might not get any real returns after inflation but imagine having 10% of your money you could invest at the bottom of the market. That 10% could easily turn into 255-30% in 3 years if you invest at the bottom…
